Disclosed herein are induction heating articles and vessels and methods for applying insulating coatings thereto. In one aspect, an induction heating vessel of the present invention includes a ferromagnetic substrate and an insulating coating layer attached to the substrate, the insulating coating layer being characterized by a thermal conductivity of less than about 1.0 W/mK and a Shore A hardness of less than about 70.

Thermally Activatable Insulating Packaging
20190106263 · 2019-04-11 ·

A method of making a container includes applying an insulating material in an inactive form to form a layer on a first substrate. The applied insulating material includes expandable microspheres. The method further includes joining a second substrate to the first substrate to adhere the first substrate to the second substrate and to create at least a portion of a multi-layer composite having at least one air gap between the first substrate and the second substrate. The method further includes heating the applied insulating material to activate expandable microspheres thereof to form expanded microspheres. The method further includes increasing the thickness of the applied insulating material layer to thereby increase the volume of the air gap between the first substrate and the second substrate of the multi-layer composite by the heating of the applied insulating material. The method further includes forming the multi-layer composite into a container having expanded microspheres.

Handling of food processor

A machine for processing a liquid food substance includes a jug that has a container and a handle for holding the jug by an adult human hand. The container delimits a food cavity for containing the food substance. The handle has a connection member projecting from the container and a substantially elongated upright gripping member that is connected to the connection member at a distance from the container. The gripping member has an upper portion that is above the connection member and a lower portion that is below the connection member. The upper portion is configured to support a thumb of the hand and delimits with the connection member an upper seat for accommodating an index finger of the hand.

System and methods for dispensing hot beverages
10123649 · 2018-11-13 · ·

A system for dispensing hot beverages in single-portion beverage containers. The beverage containers are retained within a dispensing enclosure and are heated by conduction of heat from a heating surface, thereby maintain the beverages at a specified hot temperature that is hotter than comfortable to the touch. Each individual beverage container has an internal enclosure at the temperature of the heated beverage, and an insulating surround that allows a consumer to remove the can from the dispensing enclosure without touching any hot surface. The dispensing enclosure may be portable. The single-portion beverage containers have an insulating surround which leaves the container bottom clear for thermal contact with the heating surface.
