Systems, methods, and apparatus for conditioning bamboo or other types of vegetable cane are provided. In one aspect, the present technology provides a cane processing assembly for use with a substantially flattened sheet of bamboo culm or vegetable cane having a plurality of longitudinally oriented fiber bundles. The assembly comprises first and second conditioning rollers configured to apply pressure to the sheet that breaks at least some natural bonds connecting laterally adjacent fiber bundles in the sheet. The first and second conditioning rollers are adjustable relative to each other so as to vary the pressure applied to the sheet by the first and second conditioning rollers.

Apparatus and method for variable sizing of particulates

A particulate sizer includes an infeed for receiving a plurality of particulates, a first roller, and a second roller. The first and second rollers break down the plurality of particulates as the plurality of particulates passes through a gap between the first and second rollers. The width of the gap varies along a length of the first and second rollers. Accordingly, the first and second rollers compress some particulates to a first size and compress other particulates to a second smaller size. In addition, each of the first and second rollers has a textured outer surface for carrying the plurality of particulates through the gap.

ABSORBENT CORE FOR DISPOSABLE ABSORBENT ARTICLE

A method of integrating a first fibrous web with a second fibrous web, said method comprising the steps of: a. providing a first absorbent fibrous web material; b. providing a topsheet comprising a second fibrous web material; c. providing an integrating means; and d. integrating said first absorbent fibrous web material and said second fibrous web material by processing through said integrating means. The step of integrating said first absorbent fibrous web material and said second fibrous web material comprises inter-entangling fibers from the first absorbent fibrous web and fibers from the second fibrous web.

CORE COMPRESSION AND FEEDER APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USING SAME

In an embodiment of a core compressor, the core compressor includes a housing and a first pair of rollers and a second pair of rollers, both positioned in the housing. For each of the pair of rollers, an upper roller is positioned in vertical alignment relative to a lower roller. The first pair of the rollers is located proximate to a first end of the core compressor, and the second pair of the rollers is located proximate to a second and opposing end of the core compressor. The upper roller of the first pair of rollers is located a first distance from the lower roller of the first pair of rollers. The upper roller of the second pair of rollers is located a second distance from the lower roller of the second pair of rollers. The first distance is greater than the second distance. Each roller includes at least one row of teeth extending generally perpendicularly away from the surface of the roller.

PRESS COVER, AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION OF SUCH A PRESS COVER

A press cover has at least one polymer layer. The polymer layer includes, or is produced from, a polyurethane. The polyurethane has been formed from a prepolymer and a crosslinker. The prepolymer is a reaction product of phenylene 1,4-diisocyanate and at least one polyol. The crosslinker includes at least two components, namely, a first component having at least one diamine and a second component from the group of the carbonic esters.

Method of making an absorbent core for disposable absorbent article

Thermo-compression bonding tool with high temperature elastic element

A thermo-compression bonding tool with a high temperature elastic element, and methods of bonding a metal sheet to a substrate using a thermo-compression bonding tool are described. In an example, a system for bonding a metal sheet to a substrate includes a stage to support the substrate and an elastic roller located above the stage. The elastic roller includes a high temperature material. The system also includes a heated backing plate located above the elastic roller. The backing plate is configured to apply pressure and heat to the elastic roller as the elastic roller rolls across a metal sheet disposed above the substrate.

A forage compactor is provided having a frame that has cross bars supporting risers that in turn support a shaft. At least one asymmetric wheel is supported by the shaft. The wheels can be paired whereby journals are used to connect to the shaft between recesses of respective wheels. Each wheel has a first side and a second side, each with radiused portions that turn forage away from the wheel. The wheels have a band that is flush with the outer portion of the wheel sides to prevent lifting of the forage. A storage assembly is provided and is integrated into the framework. The storage assembly can be stored within the frame when the compactor is in use, and can be deployed to a locked position in order to store the compactor. A hitch framework is provided that can attach to multiple categories of three point hitches.
