Mould, method for producing a green compact and use of the mould
A mold for producing a green compact using powder metallurgy processes has an upper punch and a lower punch which are movable along a common press axis and a die body with a charging chute for receiving powder material. The die body has an upper region in which the upper punch is movably guided along the press axis in the charging chute, and a lower region in which the lower punch is movably guided along the press axis in the charging chute. Two cross slides realize a forming region which determines the lateral outside contour of the green compact, and are arranged on the die body so as to be displaceable in a direction which deviates from the press axis. The two cross slides only move into contact with one another when the two cross slides are arranged in their respective end position.
APPARATUS FOR FORMING A CATAMENIAL TAMPON
A doming tool for manufacturing absorbent tampon includes a plurality of stations made of devices for shaping a tampon pledget tip, and a hollow mandrel engaging with the stations. The stations are supported by at least one mounting plate.
TAMPON PRESS
A press for shaping an absorbent tampon blank into a shaped tampon pledget includes a central cavity arranged and configured to accommodate an absorbent tampon blank having a front portion and a back portion. The main longitudinal axis of the press passes in the middle of the central cavity and a plurality of penetrating dies are arranged radially around the said main longitudinal axis. Each penetrating die has a pressing face on at least a fragment of its side facing the central cavity. The said press comprises at least one cam to actuate the plurality of penetrating dies. Furthermore, the plurality of penetrating dies comprises at least one penetrating die having a pressing face with a first shaped longitudinal profile, and least one penetrating die having a pressing face with a second shaped longitudinal profile.
Tampon having spirally shaped grooves
A tampon for feminine hygiene, having an insertion end, a recovery end, a recovery tape, and a longitudinal axis. The tampon is made of compressed fibrous material and has an outer surface that is at least partially provided with spirally shaped, pressed longitudinal grooves. The grooves define spirally shaped longitudinal ribs. Also disclosed is a method for producing the tampon.
Reinforced press base, strengthening ring, and method of reinforcing a press base
Embodiments of the present invention include a press base assembly, a strengthening ring for use with press bases and related methods. In one embodiment, a press base assembly includes a press base having a body that includes a piston cavity at one end. The body, at a second end opposite that of the piston cavity, may exhibit a desired geometry. A strengthening ring may be shaped, sized and configured to substantially mate with the geometry of the second end of the body and be placed thereover. For example, the geometry of the second end may be substantially circular exhibiting a particular diameter and circumference. The strengthening ring may have substantially circular internal surface sized and configured such that the strengthening ring is positioned on the second end of the body in a manner that results in an interference fit between the two components.
Molding die and die-exchanging method
A molding die has a lower holder, an intermediate holder, an upper holder, a lock member, an upper link bar, a lower link bar, a restriction member, and a drive part. A movement of the lock member in a molding die opening direction or a molding die closing direction is restricted by the intermediate holder. The upper link bar has a first retaining groove in which the lock member fits when being located at a molding die closing position. The lower link bar has a second retaining groove in which the lock member fits and a release portion that enables the lock member to be released from the first retaining groove. The restriction member is movable between a restriction position that prevents the lock member from fitting in the second retaining groove and a free position that enables the lock member to fit in the second retaining groove.
High pressure press with tensioning assembly and related methods
A high pressure press assembly along with related methods and components for the press assembly are provided. In one embodiment, a press assembly includes a first press base having one or more tie bar receiving holes extending therethrough. A second press base may also include one or more tie bar receiving holes extending therethrough. A tie bar extends between the first press base and the second press base. A tensioning assembly is operatively coupled to the tie bar to place the tie bar in tension.
MANUFACTURING A HARD-METAL PRESSED ARTICLE
A method for the manufacture of a hard-metal pressed article comprises providing a multi-part die, involving: feeding at least one frontal mold part that is movable in a first plane; feeding at least one transverse mold part that is movable in a second plane; and locking the at least one frontal mold part and the at least one transverse mold part to define a cavity for a pressed article. Feed directions of the at least one frontal mold part and the at least one transverse mold part are inclined to one another. The at least one frontal mold part and the at least one transverse mold part define surfaces of the pressed article. The resulting cavity comprises at least one opening through which a punch is insertable. The method further comprises feeding a filling shoe above an opening of the cavity and filling the cavity with a hard-metal powder; and compressing the powder with at least one punch that is movable parallel to a main pressing direction. The feeding of the at least one transverse mold part takes place along a feed direction that is parallel to the main pressing direction.
CURING PRESS FOR A TIRE BLANK, COMPRISING A TIE ROD
The curing press for a tire blank includes a frame and a plurality of circumferentially distributed segments which are capable of forming a tread for the tire. Each of the segments has at least one opening. For each segment, at least one tie rod is mounted slidably and rotatably in the opening of the segment on the one hand and hinged to the frame on the other hand. The mounting and hinging form the only connections of the tie rod to elements of the press other than the tie rod.
Methods for the development of commercial scale nano-engineered ultraconductive copper wire
When forming ultra-conductive wire, multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) are dispersed and de-agglomerated in hot metal. The MWCNTs are dispersed in a precursor matrix via mixing and sintering to form precursor material, which is hot-extruded multiple rounds at a predetermined temperature to form a nano-composite material. The nano-composite material is inserted into a metal bar to form a nano-composite billet (306), which is subjected to multiple rounds of hot extrusion to form an ultra-conductive material. The ultra-conductive material is subjected to one or more rounds of hot wire drawing to form an ultra-conductive wire comprising a nano-composite filament.
