Waste processing apparatus and method
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for processing of waste and in particular processing involving a volumetric reduction of waste materials. There is an apparatus for processing waste material comprising a compaction compartment for receipt of waste material, the compaction compartment have a screw vane for processing waste material through the compaction compartment and a waste material outlet. In one aspect the apparatus comprises a heating zone including an arrangement for heating the waste material received from the waste outlet, the apparatus further comprising a cooling zone including a cooling arrangement for cooling the waste material received from the heating zone. In another aspect, at least one of the screw vane or wall comprises one or more ports therein for transfer of liquid from the waste material, the one or more ports having a port inlet and a port outlet, wherein the area of the opening defined by the port inlet is different to the area of the opening defined by the port outlet. In a further aspect, a heating zone for receiving waste material from the waste material outlet is provided where the heating zone includes an arrangement for heating the waste material in the heating zone, and a blocking element for impeding movement of waste material from the heating zone.

An article comprising a) a die core having a plurality of flow paths adapted to flow extrudable material to a plurality of slots including wall slots and skin slots and around a plurality of pins so as to form a honeycomb structure from the extrudable material; and b) a mounting plate adapted to hold the die core in an extrusion system having an opening adapted to allow the extrudable material passed through the die core to exit, an outer portion adapted to mount and hold the die core in place, a flange about the periphery of the opening which seats the die core, an inner surface disposed to partially form the skin slots adapted to allow extrudable material to flow from the skin slots to form the skin of the honeycomb structure; and wherein the die core and mounting plate are comprised of different materials having different wear properties.
Method and apparatus for forming high strength products
A system and method are presented in which a flow of plastic is extruded to obtain nano-sized features by forming multiple laminated flow streams, flowing in parallel through the non-rotating extrusion system. Each of the parallel laminated flow streams are subjected to repeated steps in which the flows are compressed, divided, and overlapped to amplify the number of laminations. The parallel amplified laminated flows are rejoined to form a combined laminated output with nano-sized features. The die exit is formed to provide a tubular shape.
Multi-Roller System with Low Pressure Material Supply
This invention relates to a multi-roller system comprising at least two rollers forming at least one first gap therebetween configured to be supplied with at least one powder material to produce at least one film material and/or web material by compressing the powder material within the first gap, wherein at least one first low pressure area is provided in at least one supply area for the powder material and the first gap, wherein at least one sealing system is provided to seal the first low pressure area, wherein the sealing system contacts at least one surface of at least one of the rollers, wherein further a first roller is movable relative to a second roller to alter a width of the first gap and/or to alter a distance between the first roller and the second rollers, wherein the sealing system is adjustable to at least two different widths of the first gap and/or two distances of the first roller and the second roller.
Multi-Roller System with Low Pressure Material Supply
This invention relates to a multi-roller system comprising at least two rollers forming at least one first gap therebetween configured to be supplied with at least one powder material to produce at least one film material and/or web material by compressing the powder material within the first gap, wherein at least one first low pressure area is provided in at least one supply area for the powder material and the first gap, wherein at least one sealing system is provided to seal the first low pressure area, wherein the sealing system contacts at least one surface of at least one of the rollers, wherein further a first roller is movable relative to a second roller to alter a width of the first gap and/or to alter a distance between the first roller and the second rollers, wherein the sealing system is adjustable to at least two different widths of the first gap and/or two distances of the first roller and the second roller.
