A core compressor is disclosed that includes a housing, a first pair of rollers and a second pair of rollers, both positioned in the housing. Each of the pair of rollers includes an upper roller and a lower roller. The first pair of the rollers is located proximate to a first end of the core compressor, and the second pair of the rollers is located proximate to a second and opposing end of the core compressor. The upper roller and lower roller of the first pair of rollers are located a first distance apart. The upper roller and lower roller of the second pair of rollers are located a second distance apart. Each roller includes at least one row of teeth extending generally perpendicularly away from the surface of the roller.

The press container is formed of a pressure-resistant flexible plastics material and is received in an inherently rigid support framework that is rotatable about the axis of rotation.

A thermoforming apparatus is provided having a frame, a pair of opposed platens, a toggle shaft, a kinematic linkage, a form air manifold, and a pair of articulating bearing assemblies. The pair of opposed platens is carried by the frame each with a die, one die configured to engage an opposed face of another die across a heated sheet of thermoformable material in sealed relation there between. The toggle shaft is carried by the frame for rotation. The kinematic linkage is coupled between the toggle shaft and one of the dies. The form air manifold and a source of differential pressure is coupled with a die face on one of the dies. The pair of articulating bearing assemblies is carried by the frame and configured to support the at least one toggle shaft for translation towards and away from the another die and platen. A method is also provided.

A press device having a cradle, a base plate, a fracturing device, an actuator, a switch, and a body. The base plate is located at a first end of the cradle. The fracturing device is proximally located at a second end of the cradle. The cradle is adapted to work in communication with the base plate to maintain alignment between the baseplate and the fracturing device. The actuator is proximally located to the second end of the cradle. The switch is operably connecting the actuator to the fracturing device. The body holds the cradle, base plate, fracturing device, actuator driven ram, and switch. The preferred embodiment uses a hydraulic ram.

The outboard guide bearing assembly includes a carriage assembly and a number of elongated journals. The carriage assembly includes a ram coupling, a crank coupling, and body defining a number of journal passages. The ram body is coupled to a ram coupling. The crank coupling is structured to be coupled to a crank arm. Each journal extends through a carriage assembly body journal passage. In this configuration, the ram body may form a can body in a traditional manner, but fluid bearing assembly fluid is not applied to the ram body. Instead, the fluid bearing assembly fluid is applied to the journals.

A turning device, in which the mobile press container is temporarily received can be rotated during a pressing operation from a filling position, about an angle of less than 360°, more particularly of less than 270°, in mutually opposing directions of rotation about an axis of rotation. There is also described a method for pressing liquid-containing materials.
