APPARATUSES FOR LOADING PORTAFILTERS OF ESPRESSO COFFEE MACHINES WITH DOSES OF GROUND COFFEE HAVING PREDETERMINED WEIGHTS AND COMPOSED OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF COFFEE, ACCORDING TO GIVEN RECIPES
An apparatus for loading a portafilter of an espresso coffee machine with a dose of ground coffee having a predetermined weight and composed of a single type of coffee or of a composition of different types of coffee, according to a given recipe.
The apparatus comprises a plurality of hoppers each containing a different type of coffee beans. The exhaust pipes of the hoppers converge into a single collection point associated with a coffee bean weighing device and a coffee bean grinding device that can provide different grinding degrees.
The ground coffee, which may have different particle sizes according to the types of coffee that form the dose, flows into a respective cylindrical container of a loading device having a plurality of containers arranged around a central axis of rotation and a radially and axially open compartment, which is designed to allow the passage of the tamper for tamping the dose of ground coffee in the portafilter, when said compartment is moved by an angular displacement of the loader to alignment with the tamper and with the underlying portafilter.
The apparatus comprises a tamper for tamping the ground coffee, which may also provide different tamping degrees for the different amounts of ground coffee that form the dose according to the selected recipe, as the dose is being received in the portafilter.
Device and method for cleaning grinders
A device and related method for reducing coffee beans into powder includes a primary tank or hopper for containing the coffee beans, a grinding chamber, one or more unloading ducts for unloading coffee powder from the grinding chamber, a ground coffee collecting zone, and a system for the manual or automated removal of coffee powder residues and of accumulations thickened inside the grinding chamber, on the surfaces of the members involved in the pulverization, and on channels of the coffee into the unloading ducts using gas introduced into the grinding chamber.
APPARATUS, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR BREWING A BEVERAGE
A system for brewing a desired portion of a beverage, such as a single-cup portion of coffee, is provided. The system may have more than one brew module. The system allows a user to quickly and easily brew a variety of types of single-cup portions of a beverage. In some embodiments, the system may brew a single-cup portion of coffee in a relatively short period of time based on a combination of certain parameters. The system may include an automatic cleaning mechanism such that a user does not need to manually clean components of a brewing machine between brew cycles. The system may also include apparatus configured to substantially prevent steam from reaching grinder components of the system. The system may also include apparatus configured to provide a precise dose of material based on, for example, volume of the material. Methods and apparatus for brewing a beverage are also disclosed.
