System and method for forming a compostable pod for beverages from a sheet having a controlled moisture level
The invention relates to a system (100) for manufacturing a compostable pod (900) for brewing products. Therein, the pod (900) is made from a sheet (600) made of a biodegradable cellulose-based material. The system (100) comprises at least one shaping line (200), which comprises a handling unit (300) for transferring the sheet (600) along a transfer direction (TD) through the system (100). The shaping line (200) further comprises a humidifying unit (400) for moistening at least one side of the sheet (600) with a moistening agent (401), and a forming unit (800) for shaping a part of the moistened sheet (600) into a three-dimensional shape to form a pod element (910), which defines a pod cavity (911). The shaping line (200) comprises further a humidity sensor system (500) for visually sensing a level of humidity of at least a section of the moistened sheet (600). Values related to the level of humidity sensed by the humidity sensor system (500) are received by a control unit (700), which is further configured to control the humidifying unit (400) based on these values. The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a compostable pod (900), whereby a level of humidity of at least a section of the moistened sheet (600) is visually sensed and forwarded for controlling the moistening process of the at least one side of the sheet (600) correspondingly.
PRODUCTION METHOD AND PRODUCTION SYSTEM FOR FIBER BASED CELLULOSE MATERIAL PRODUCTS
This invention relates to Production method for fiber based cellulose material products by means of converting a blank or web, wherein there is provided a production space (1) including a converting production unit (2) intermittently producing a shaped product (5B), a supply station (3) and a supply path (4), comprising the steps of: a. Providing a supply of unconverted blanks or a web (5) at said supply station (3) having a density below 0,5 kg/dm.sup.3 and a wet content below 20% weight. b. Feeding an unconverted portion (5A) of said unconverted blanks or a web along said supply path (4), c. Converting said unconverted portion (5A) by means of said converting production unit (2) to a converted product (5B), Wherein also the following further steps are performed:Providing humidity sensor/s (6) measuring the humidity within said production space (1),Controllably feeding said unconverted portion (5A) along said supply path (4) to provide a time span (T) during feeding from said supply station (3) to said converting production unit (2), wherein said time span (T) provides for sufficient time of exposure of said unconverted portion (5A) to the environment in said production space (1) to obtain a moisture profile () within a preset moisture content (.sub.1-.sub.2).
APPARATUS FOR MOULDING AN OBJECT WITH A MATERIAL DERIVED FROM NATURAL FIBRES
A moulding apparatus for forming an object from a dose of material derived partially from natural fibres, having a forming region delimited by a lateral surface extending around a central zone of the forming region. The apparatus includes a first half-mould defining the forming region, including a transverse surface and the lateral surface defining a forming cavity, a second half-mould mutually movable with respect to the first half-mould along a moulding axis so as to be inserted into the forming cavity for shaping the dose, and a compensation device which can be positioned at a variable distance from the transverse surface through a mutual movement of the compensation device and the forming cavity, so as to determine a final size of the object to be formed as a function of the volume of the dose inserted into the forming cavity.
Method And System For Forming Articles
A method or press-forming a construct. The method can comprise obtaining a forming tool comprising at least a punch and a cavity part. The cavity part at least partially defines a cavity and comprises a plurality of ports in fluid communication with the cavity. The method further includes positioning a moisturized paperboard packaging material between the punch and the cavity, and press-forming the moisturized paperboard packaging material into the construct by moving the punch and the cavity part together so that the punch is at least partially received in the cavity with the moisturized paperboard packaging material pressed therebetween. The method also includes removing moisturizing fluid in the cavity released by the moisturized paperboard packaging material during press-forming via the plurality of ports in the cavity part.
