SEMI-RIGID CARTON POUCH PACKAGE
Paper-based packages and methods of making the same are disclosed. In one example, a semi-rigid package comprises: a base, a first side portion, and a second side portion. The base comprises two opposed major walls and two longitudinal side walls opposed to each other. The first side portion and a second side portion are integrally formed with the base. The two side portions are respectively connected to the base along the longitudinal direction, and each side portion comprises two opposed side panels, two tapered corner portions opposed to each other, and a closure in a transverse direction. Each side panel is connected to the adjacent major wall along a transverse line, and the two opposed side panels are jointed to form the closure. At least one of the side portions may be substantially compacted and form a substantially flat transverse side wall.
Method and System for Preparing Blanks for Forming Cartons
A method of preparing a blank for forming a carton includes obtaining a blank, positioning the blank in a blank feeder assembly of a system for preparing blanks, moving the blank from the blank feeder assembly to a conveyor assembly of the system, and activating the conveyor assembly to move the blank along a coating applicator assembly of the system, the coating applicator assembly having a container defining a reservoir holding a volume of a coating and an applicator wheel rotatably supported at least partially in the reservoir of the coating applicator assembly. The method further includes applying a portion of the coating from the reservoir to a portion of the blank.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FORMING CONTAINERS
A method and system are disclosed for forming a can from a re-configurable blank. A blank is also disclosed that may be a paper based blank and may be of multi-layer construction. The method may comprise: (a) supporting the blank in a first orientation; (b) positioning a first portion of an outward facing surface of a blank support device proximate a first portion of the blank while the blank is in the first orientation; (c) while the first portion of the blank is in the first orientation, rotating a second portion of the blank around a second portion of the outward facing surface of the blank support device; and (d) rotating a third portion of the blank from the first orientation, around a third portion of the outward facing surface of the blank support device. A generally tubular side wall may thus be formed for a can.
Method for producing a packaging material, and a method for producing a package
A method for producing a packaging material comprises providing a core material layer of fibre-based material having an inner side and an outer side, embossing the core material layer for forming embossed features having an initial height, the embossed features protruding from the outer side of the core material layer to later form a tactile pattern on a side of the package to be formed by the packaging material, and laminating at least one layer to the inner side of the embossed core material layer such that the height of the embossed features is temporarily reduced to a minimum height.
PAPER CONTAINER TOP FLANGE
A plurality of camming surfaces (116) are actuated to move against the top portion of the side walls (38) of a container (36) to turn such top portion in an outward direction relative to the interior of the container sufficiently to enable the seal profile (90) of the top tool assembly (30) of a sealing apparatus (22) to press the outwardly disposed side wall top portions downwardly against an abutment formed by a bottom tool assembly (32) so as to create a horizontal, outwardly disposed sealing flange (40) to which a top film (34) is applied for closure of the container.
ARTICLE CARRIER AND BLANK THEREFOR
Aspects of the disclosure relate to a carrier in the form of a tray and to a blank for forming the carrier and to a method of assembling the carrier into a flat collapsible form. The carrier comprises a base wall, opposed side walls hingedly connected to opposed sides of the base wall, and opposed end walls hingedly connected to opposed ends of the base wall. Each of the end walls is coupled to each of the side walls by a corner structure. The corner structure comprises a first corner panel, a second corner panel and a web panel hingedly connected to each of the first and second corner panels. The web panel is disposed between first and second corner panels in face contacting relationship therewith. The web panel comprises a cutaway located distally from the base wall, such that the first corner panel is securable to the second corner panel.
BOX FORMING MACHINE
A box forming machine includes a converter assembly, a fold assembly, and an attachment assembly. The converter assembly converts sheet material into a box template. The fold assembly engages a first end of the box template and moves the first end of the box template to a predetermined position. The attachment assembly engages a second end of the box template and moves the second end of the box template toward and into engagement with the first end of the box template to attach the first and second ends of the box template together.
BLANK, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A SET OF BELTS, METHOD AND MACHINE FOR PACKAGING PRODUCTS IN A BOX MADE OF TWO BELTS
The invention relates to a blank of corrugated cardboard sheet material consisting of a first body (10) and a second body (11) of rectangular shape which are connected together by means of a line to be cut and designed for forming a set of a first belt and a second belt intended to form a box having a length L, a width W and a height H, the first and the second bodies having different widths and lengths and the line extending along the length of the first and second bodies, the first body (10) having a width (D1) larger than the length L and a length (D2) larger than at least twice the width W plus the height H (2W+H) and the second body (11) having a width (d1) larger than the width W or the height H and a length (d2) larger than the length L plus twice the height H or twice the width W.
A PACKAGING MATERIAL, AND A METHOD FOR PROVIDING SUCH PACKAGING MATERIAL
A packaging material is provided, comprising a set of crease lines (10, 10) along which the packaging material is intended to be folded in order to form a package. The set of crease lines (10, 10) comprises at least one first crease line (10a, 10a) being configured to fold easier than an adjacent second crease line (10b, 10b). The said crease lines are intended to define a corner surface of the package.
