METHOD OF MAKING A REFUSE BAG
20170240354 · 2017-08-24 ·

A bag for receiving refuse may comprise a bag body, the bag body including an inside surface, an outside surface, and a rim defining a mouth. The bag may further comprise a first strip of material disposed on the inside surface of the bag body proximate the rim. The bag has an integrated polymer liner layer and is formed of a pair of valley folds and a pair of mountain folds.

A Package

A package is provided, comprising a packaging material having a bulk layer and being formed into a three-dimensional container by folding the packaging material along predefined crease lines thus forming a fracture along the crease lines. The package comprises a plurality of corners, wherein at least one of the corners is arranged at an area of the packaging material in which two or more crease lines intersect.

Easy Open Plastic Bags

A woven laminated plastic bag having an easy open feature is provided. The easy open feature is generally defined by a weakened portion in the bag. In various aspects the bag can be fabricated from a woven polyethylene layer which can be laminated with a polyethylene film layer, can form a pinch bottom bag, and can have one or both sides include graphics and/or printing. The bag can also provide a top end and/or a bottom end either or both of which provide a discrete area which may contain discrete graphics and/or printing.

Coffee Bag Vent
20170320642 · 2017-11-09 ·

A laser formed vent in packaging material, formed by an interior breach and an exterior breach, which are connected to one another by a channel. The next interior breach an exterior breach are laterally offset from one another, the channel is formed by vaporizing a bubble in an interior layer, for example a foil layer. In one embodiment, the bubble can be crushed, but returns to its original configuration.

Method of making a woven plastic bag

A woven plastic bag is made by longitudinally feeding flat-lying fabric web having a layer of woven-together plastic strips on a first face, opposite longitudinal edge regions spaced transversely from each other and each extending over about 10% of a transverse width of the fabric web, and a middle section between the longitudinal edge regions. A pattern is applied the first face of the fabric web in a pattern that repeats along the production direction only locally with a coating in the form of a film or in the form of a liquid plastic of a width or shape that varies transversely, and the fabric web is shaped into a fabric tube. In order to form individual woven plastic bags, the fabric tube is cut transversely into pieces of the fabric tube suitable for subsequent filling and sealing.

Side-gusset bag made of a plastic fabric composite, and method for the production thereof

The invention relates to a flat-lying side-gusset bag made of a plastic fabric composite (2) and to a method for the production thereof. The side-gusset bag has opposing front walls (3a, 3b), side gussets (4a, 4b) introduced in between said front walls (3a, 3b), and folding edges (5) between the front walls (3a, 3b) and the side gussets (4a, 4b). Peripheral sections of the plastic fabric composite (2) are connected together in an overlapping region (10) at a longitudinal seam, wherein the plastic fabric composite (2) has a plastic fabric (7) and at least one closed plastic layer. The side gussets (5) extend, in the case of the flat-lying side-gusset bag, in each case over at most ⅓ of the width of the front walls. According to the invention, the overlapping region (10) is arranged off-center on one of the front walls (3a, 3b) at least partially over one of the side gussets (4a, 4b) or at one of the side gussets (4a, 4b). In order to be able to form such a side-gusset bag, in the production method, first of all a closed, two-layer tube (12) is formed, from which a side-gusset tube (1) is subsequently formed.

FILMS AND BAGS HAVING THREE DIMENSIONAL PATTERNS
20210402733 · 2021-12-30 ·

A thermoplastic film which embodies a three-dimensional pattern. The thermoplastic film comprises a three-dimensional pattern including at least three sub-patterns of deformations. The shape, positioning, and pattern deformation density of the at least three sub-patterns of deformations cause the three-dimensional pattern to give the thermoplastic film a thicker appearance.

Flexible packaging structure with a built-in opening and reclose feature

A flexible packaging laminate is formed to have a built-in opening and reclose feature by forming the laminate as a two-part structure having an outer structure joined in face-to-face relation with an inner structure. Score lines are formed in both structures to enable an opening to be formed through the laminate by lifting an opening portion (e.g., a flap or the like) of the two structures out of the plane of the laminate. The score line through the outer structure defines a larger opening than the score line through the inner structure, such that a marginal region of the outer structure extends beyond the edge of the opening portion of the inner structure. A pressure-sensitive adhesive is used to re-adhere the marginal region to an underlying surface of the inner structure adjacent the opening through the laminate.

Methods of forming laminates

Methods for making tip bonded formed laminates are made from multiple layers of formed substrates made from films which are bonded together at the tips of their formed protrusions. Tip bonded laminates can be designed with greater resistance to bending, improved resilience to compression, and can be patterned for directionally oriented responses to tensile loads. Also, tip bonded formed laminates made from multiple layers of formed substrates can use their layered structure to provide better aesthetics as well as better physical properties such as improved puncture resistance. Tip bonded formed laminates can be configured with thicker portions and designed patterns, which are appealing to consumers. A tip bonded formed laminate can be made from two or more formed substrates and can be used instead of a single, thick, unformed, substrate, so the laminate can use about the same amount of material, while still providing surprising functional benefits.

Films and bags with visually distinct regions and methods of making the same

One or more implementations of a multi-layer film include a first layer non-continuously bonded to a second pigmented layer. The multi-layer film includes an unexpected appearance differing from the appearance of the pigmented layer. In one or more embodiments, the multi-layer film includes a metallic appearance despite the pigmented layer being devoid of metallic pigment. The multi-layer film also includes areas that are visually distinct from areas of the film with the unexpected appearance. The visually-distinct areas comprise areas in which the first layer non-continuously is in intimate contact with the second pigmented layer. The visually-distinct areas have the appearance of the pigmented layer or another appearance. One or more implementations also include methods of making multi-layer films and bags with an unexpected appearance and visually-distinct areas.
