Embossed paper in combination with paper cushioning for shipping envelopes
According to some illustrative embodiments, a protective product is provided that includes: at least one expandable slit paper sheet, said at least on expandable slit paper being expanded between opposing ends of said slit paper; a first embossed paper sheet facing said expanded slit paper sheet and a second paper sheet facing an opposite side of said at least one expanded slit paper sheet, at least one of said first embossed paper sheet and said second paper sheet being fixed to said expanded slit paper sheet at the opposing ends of said expanded slit paper sheet and thereby maintaining said expanded paper in its expanded state, said first embossed paper sheet having a plurality of embossings that increase the rigidity of said embossed paper sheet, whereby inhibiting deformation of said embossed paper sheet that is fixed to said expanded slit sheet paper.
Non-continuously laminated structures of thermoplastic films with differing material compositions and functional material properties
A non-continuously laminated structure of thermoplastic films comprises thermoplastic films with differing material compositions and differing functional benefits. In particular, one or more embodiments comprise thermoplastic films that are co-extruded separately and then combined together by a post-extrusion bonding process. The differing composition of the various films of the non-continuously laminated structure of thermoplastic films and the post-extrusion bonding process, provide the structures with the functional benefits of the individual films.
ASYNCHRONOUS SPATIAL LBT
Improvements to asynchronous spatial listen before talk (LBT) procedures are disclosed. In a shared spectrum network spatial LBT procedures are used for directionally targeting the channel reservation process. Prior to transmitting channel reservation signaling, the transmitter and receiver determine an effective interference considering available multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) configuration information. When the effective interference exceeds a predefined threshold, the node may without transmission of its channel reservation signal. Otherwise, when the effective interference remains within the threshold, each node's transmitted channel reservation signal may also identify at least a beamforming matrix either as payload or used to precede the node's channel reservation signal.
MULTI-LAYER THERMOPLASTIC FILMS AND BAGS CONFIGURED TO PROVIDE A PERCEIVABLE COLOR CHANGE UPON BEING SUBJECTED TO A STRAIN AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
A multi-layer co-extruded film includes a first layer having a first color and a second layer having a second different color, wherein the first and second layers are co-extruded layers. The multi-layer co-extruded film also includes a plurality of intermittently stretched regions, wherein the multi-layer co-extruded film exhibits a perceivable color change when subjected to a strain. In perceivable color change or E between about 2.50 and about 7.00. Methods of forming a multi-layer co-extruded film includes coextruding a first layer having a first color with a second layer having a second different color and intermittently stretching a plurality of regions of the multi-layer co-extruded film, wherein the first layer and the second layer are co-extruded and intermittently stretched to exhibit a perceivable color change when subjected to a strain.
POLYMERIC BAGS AND METHOD TO MAKE SAME
The present invention is directed to a bag of polymeric film and a method to make the bag. The bag can be comprised of a front panel and a rear panel. The front and rear panels can each be comprised of multiple layers of film. The bag can be formed from a collapsed bubble of polymeric film that has been folded in half so that opposing edges of the collapsed bubble form an opening of the bag. One of the layers of the folded bubble can be split adjacent to an edge of the collapsed bubble and a draw tape film can be inserted between the layers of the folded and collapsed bubble. The collapsed bubble can further be embossed by a pattern that can provide enhanced properties to bags formed from the folded bubble.
TIP BONDED FORMED LAMINATES OF FILM
Tip bonded formed laminates, and methods for making tip bonded formed laminates, are made from multiple layers of formed substrates made from films which are bonded together at the tips of their formed protrusions. Tip bonded laminates can be designed with greater resistance to bending, improved resilience to compression, and can be patterned for directionally oriented responses to tensile loads. Also, tip bonded formed laminates made from multiple layers of formed substrates can use their layered structure to provide better aesthetics as well as better physical properties such as improved puncture resistance. Tip bonded formed laminates can be configured with thicker portions and designed patterns, which are appealing to consumers. A tip bonded formed laminate can be made from two or more formed substrates and can be used instead of a single, thick, unformed, substrate, so the laminate can use about the same amount of material, while still providing surprising functional benefits. Tip bonded formed laminates can provide these benefits without relying on more expensive polymers and/or high concentrations of additives and offer significant improvements at a reasonable cost, when compared with unformed, single layer substrates.
Insulation products and methods and machines for making insulation products
A machine for making insulation may include two or more rotatory members configured to pull a precut insulation product at a first rate, wherein the precut insulation product comprises a first paper layer, a second paper layer, and a continuous paper core sheet, a first restraint and a second restraint spaced apart a predetermined distance to create a first space therebetween, and two or more second rotary members configured to feed a continuous paper sheet at a second rate into the first space such that the continuous paper sheet forms a plurality of flexible loops defining a plurality of air channels that extend in a direction that is substantially perpendicular with a machine direction. The first rate may be slower than the second rate.
CONFORMABLE, RECYCLABLE SHIPPING CONTAINER, MACHINE AND METHOD
The present disclosure is directed to a shipping container with a corrugated medium that lines an interior pocket of the shipping container as well devices and components (e.g., corrugating rollers, corrugating machines, scoring rollers, and scoring machines) that are utilized to manufacture the shipping containers. The corrugated medium has flutes that cushion, support, and protect a product that is shipped within the shipping container. The corrugated medium may include a first portion with first flutes and a second portion with second flutes that are offset relative to the first flutes. The offset first flutes and second flutes results in peaks of the first flutes nesting within valleys of the second flutes, and peaks of the second flutes nesting within valleys of the first flutes.
Method and device for producing and filling packaging means
A method for the production and filling of packaging includes unwinding flattened tubular film material from a roll along a primary axis of symmetry thereof, providing the tubular film material via a welding and separating process with a first lateral welding seam perpendicular relative to the axis, and separating the tubular film material along a separation line to provide a hose section. The hose section open at one side is filled, and the still open other side of the hose section is provided with a second lateral welding seam. Two subsequent separation lines are inserted in the hose section at a distance that is less than the distance between the two edges of the hose.
