The handle has a proximal end configured for gripping by a user and a distal end. The cup is coupled to the distal end of the handle. The squeegee mechanism is associated with the handle and the cup. The squeegee mechanism includes a sweeping arm pivotally connected to the cup and disposed adjacent an exterior of the cup and a trigger assembly supported on the handle and connected to the sweeping arm. The trigger assembly is configured to actuate the squeegee mechanism to sweep the sweeping arm along the exterior of the cup.

A vegetable slicing shield includes a root, a u-shaped handle, and a plurality of tines. The root is medially disposed between the u-shaped handle and the tines. The u-shaped handle is coupled with the root at opposing lateral regions of a first side of the root. The handle includes a plurality of sliding members. Each sliding member is associated with a corresponding seasoning compartment section and includes one or more grinding teeth configured to grind the grindable seasonings of the associated seasoning compartment section. The handle includes a lever configured to be pressed and released. When the lever is pressed and released, the lever moves the sliding member associated with the selected seasoning compartment section back and forth, causing the sliding member's grinding teeth to grind the grindable seasonings in the selected seasoning compartment section.

The present disclosure generally relates to articles and methods for handling food items. In one aspect, an article for receiving or holding a food item comprises: a blade; and a rim extending along at least one side of the blade. In another aspect, a method of handling a food item using an article comprises a blade and a rim extending along at least one side of the blade, the method comprising: gripping or holding a part of the rim by hand; causing the food item to be placed onto the blade; and moving the article containing the food item therein to a desired location.
