JOINING TWO COMPONENTS OF A FIELD DEVICE FOR PROCESSING AND AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGY
A field device for processing and automation technology includes a first and a second component that can each be mechanically connected at a joining surface by means of a joining point. Two metal surface layers are each applied at least to the joining surface of the first component and the joining surface of the second component. The metal of the surface layers is different from the metal of the first and/or the metal of the second component. A joining material is applied between the respective joining surfaces of the two components, wherein the joining material includes particles at least partially consisting of a metal that corresponds with the metal of the surface layers The joining of the two components occurs at a joining temperature below 300° C.
ASSEMBLY OF METAL PIPES WITH TWO-COMPONENT POLYURETHANE ADHESIVE
Described herein is a method for joining a first metal pipe with a second metal pipe, the pipes being joined together in an overlapping area by use of a two-component polyurethane adhesive that encapsulates the overlapping area, where the method includes the steps of:
(1) applying the two-component polyurethane adhesive onto an inner surface of a fixture;
(2) inserting one end of the first metal pipe into one end of the second metal pipe so as to form a pipe assembly having the overlapping area between the two ends, and putting the overlapping area of the pipe assembly into the fixture; (3) closing the fixture such that the overlapping area of the pipe assembly is fixed in the fixture, and such that the adhesive therein encapsulates the overlapping area of the pipe assembly; (4) curing the two-component polyurethane adhesive; and (5) optionally, removing the fixture from the pipe assembly.
ZINC PLATED STEEL SHEET HAVING EXCELLENT SURFACE QUALITY AND SPOT WELDABILITY, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
The present invention relates to a zinc plated steel sheet having excellent surface quality and spot weldability, and a manufacturing method therefore. A zinc plated steel sheet according to one aspect of the present invention comprises a base steel sheet and a zinc-based plating layer formed on the surface of the base steel sheet, wherein the GDOES profile of oxygen, which is measured in the depth direction from the surface of the base steel sheet, has a form in which a local minimum point and a local maximum point alternately appear in the depth direction from the surface, and the difference (a local maximum value—a local minimum value) between the oxygen concentration (a local minimum value) at the local minimum point and the oxygen concentration (a local maximum value) at the local maximum point can be 0.1 wt % or more.
Engine head gasket having anti-preignition wrap and method of making same
An engine head gasket includes a base layer, an upper layer, and a lower layer. The base layer includes a base layer inner edge. The engine head gasket further includes an anti-preignition wrap defining a cylinder opening and wrapped around the base layer inner edge. The engine head gasket is configured with a combustion seal and selective thicknesses to direct a combustion sealing load to a cylinder block. The anti-preignition wrap shields angular corners of the base layer inner edge from a cylinder to limit preignition.
ALUMINUM ALLOY-PLATED STEEL SHEET HAVING EXCELLENT WORKABILITY AND CORROSION RESISTANCE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
The present disclosure relates to an aluminum alloy-plated steel sheet having excellent workability and corrosion resistance and a method for manufacturing the same, and more particularly, to an aluminum alloy-plated steel sheet preventing microcracks generated during hot forming and has excellent seizure resistance and corrosion resistance, and a method for manufacturing the same.
COLD ROLLED AND ANNEALED STEEL SHEET, METHOD OF PRODUCTION THEREOF AND USE OF SUCH STEEL TO PRODUCE VEHICLE PARTS
A cold rolled and annealed steel sheet includes by weight: 0.6≤C≤1.3%, 15.0≤Mn≤35%, 5≤Al≤15%, Si≤2.40%, S≤0.03%, P≤0.1%, N≤0.1%, possibly one or more optional elements chosen among Ni, Cr and Cu in an respective amount of up to 4.0%, up to 3.0% and up to 3.0% and possibly one or more elements chosen among B, Ta, Zr, Nb, V, Ti, Mo, and W in a cumulated amount of up to 2.0%, the remainder of the composition making up of iron and inevitable impurities resulting from the elaboration, the microstructure of the sheet including optionally up to 3% of kappa carbides, optionally up to 10.0% of granular ferrite, the remainder being made of austenite, the average grain size and average aspect ratio of the austenite being respectively below 6 μm and comprised between 1.5 and 6 and the average grain size and average aspect ratio of the ferrite, when present, being respectively below 5 μm and below 3.0.
PLATED METALLIC SUBSTRATES AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF
Plated metallic substrates and methods of manufacture are provided. The method comprises depositing a first layer onto at least a portion of the metallic substrate to create a coated substrate utilizing physical vapor deposition. The method comprises electroplating a second layer comprising chromium, a chromium alloy, or a combination thereof onto at least a portion of the first layer to create a plated substrate.

CLAMP WITH FIRST AND SECOND METAL LAYERS
A clamp includes a closure mechanism and a band. The clamp can be a v-insert clamp. The band has a first metal layer and a second metal layer. The metal layers constitute a bi-metallic construction of the band. The metal layers can be composed of different stainless steel materials. The first metal layer possesses a first coefficient of thermal expansion, and the second metal layer possesses a second coefficient of thermal expansion. Values of the first coefficient of thermal expansion and of the second coefficient of thermal expansion differ relative to each other. The difference in value of the first and second coefficients of thermal expansion, and the position of the first and second metal layers relative to each other, can be effected in order to impart desired behavior of the band when experiencing a change in temperature.
