Depth-Independent Blast-Resistant Thermally-Insulating Ballistically-Protective and Ergonomically-Improved Segmented Diver Suit
A segmented diving suit includes a base layer and a plurality of composite plates arranged on the base layer in a configuration designed to avoid joints or other anatomical features that bend. The composite plates include a spheres or microspheres dispersed/embedded in a carrier polymer. The spheres or microspheres provide one or more of thermal protection, sonic/blast resistance, and ballistic protection.
Flow body for a vehicle with a compressible skin
A flow body for a vehicle having a flow surface, as well as a skin system attached to the flow surface is proposed. The skin system has a top layer and a foam arrangement positioned between the flow surface and the top layer, wherein the top layer includes an elastic, surface-like material, wherein the foam arrangement includes a first layer of an elastic, compressible open cell foam, wherein the foam arrangement is bonded to the top layer. The skin system has a static shape in an unloaded state, in which the shape defines an outer surface geometry that directly follows the geometry of the respective flow surface, and the skin system has a deflected shape when the flow body is subjected to turbulent air flow. The deflected shape at least temporarily compresses the foam arrangement.
Multilayer tube, particularly for fluids
A multilayer tube, particularly for fluids, includes a sheath made of fluorinated polymers which is located in an innermost layer, which is adapted to be in contact with a circulating fluid, and is constituted by coupling a first, nonconducting material to a second, black-pigmented material that is electrically at least antistatic in the form of one or more continuous strips. The sheath has a smooth internal surface and is reinforced with external layers that are predominantly made of rubber.
Curative
An illustrative embodiment of a manufactured surface component may be comprised of a textile material on a first face and an elastomer material on a second face, wherein said elastomer material is bonded to said textile material, wherein said manufactured surface component is substantially planarly configured, wherein an area of said first face and said second face is from about 0.04 square inches to about 4.0 square inches, wherein a thickness of said manufactured surface component is from about 0.3 mm to about 2.5 mm, and wherein said manufactured surface component is substantially free of any petrochemical-derived plastics, petrochemicals, and toxins.
Fire hose and matertal therefore
Described herein are fire hoses incorporating new combinations of materials to increase the hose's resilience. Resilient hoses include those made with silicone-coated fabrics or with thermally-resistant fabrics or both.
TOILET SEAT ARRANGEMENT
A toilet seat assembly including a seat or a seat and a lid, where the seat or the seat and the lid are made of a polymer material, wherein the polymer material includes to an extent of 40-99.5 wt % at least one biopolymer, the polymer material including fibers and/or at least one organic or inorganic particulate filler, the fraction of the fibers and/or of the filler being between 0.5-60.0 wt %.
Heat-conductive sheet
A heat-conducting sheet comprising a first heat-conducting layer, a second heat-conducting layer, an interface, a polymer matrix, an anisotropic filler and a non-anisotropic filler, wherein: the first and second heat-conducting layers each comprise the polymer matrix, the anisotropic filler and the non-anisotropic filler, the anisotropic filler oriented in a thickness direction, the first and second heat-conducting layers are laminated via the interface, the interface comprises the polymer matrix and the non-anisotropic filler, a filling ratio of the anisotropic filler in the interface is lower than that in the first and second heat-conducting layers, and a filling ratio of the non-anisotropic filler in the interface is higher than that in the first and second heat-conducting layers; and a method of producing the heat-conducting sheet.
Multilayer films for ostomy bags
A multilayer film having at least one barrier layer and at least one outer layer, suitable for medical applications, such as ostomy applications, which is effective as barrier for odors and has sufficient properties with respect to provide a pliable, tear resistant with noise damping film is provided. The multilayer film includes polyolefin elastomers, plasticized PVDC, ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers and additives.
A LABEL FOR A TYRE OF VEHICLE WHEELS, A PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING SAID LABEL AND A PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING A TYRE INCLUDING SAID LABEL
A label (1; 50) for a tyre (100) of vehicle wheels comprises: an external surface (2) which is intended to remain visible when said label (1; 50) is coupled to a sidewall (102) of the tyre, an internal surface (3) which is opposite the external surface (2), a plurality of recesses (10) which are formed at the external surface (2) and which are not open at said internal surface (3) and which are capable of generally defining at least one portion of information which is set out on the label. The plurality of recesses (10) are formed on a first layer (4) of the label (1; 50) which is made of an elastomer material which is compatible with the elastomer material of the sidewall (102). The first layer (4) is partially vulcanized and has a degree of vulcanization corresponding to a value between T.sub.30 and T.sub.60.
DECONTAMINATING PAVING
A decontaminating pavement which can be applied as a flooring for playgrounds or similar surfaces, and includes at least one base made of black rubber that is ground and glued with a resin binder; and one upper layer of encapsulated and colored rubber, with resins, pigments, additives, and catalysts, wherein the surface of said upper layer is impregnated with a transparent film containing a photocatalytic additive which, in the presence of photons originating from sunlight or from a UV lamp, produces a NOx gas or particle decontamination or elimination effect. The photocatalytic additive forming the transparent film with which the surface layer is impregnated can be based on nano titanium. The upper layer of encapsulated rubber can include, as catalysts, an enhancer of the catalytic and aromatic/aliphatic binding effect which enhances and activates the effect of the photocatalytic additive of the film impregnating the surface of said upper layer.
