Supported elastomeric foams and processes for making same
A supported elastomeric foam (100) includes an elastomeric matrix (102) formed of an elastomer and including a reinforcement region (104) and a foamed region (106). The foamed region includes gas filled cells (108) in the elastomer, and the reinforcement region includes a porous layer (204) having an interconnected network of pores at least partially imbibed with the elastomer. The foam can include an adhesive at a surface of the foam. A compressible seal (802) including a compressible body, which can be elastomeric foam, can also include a pattern of discontinuous adhesive regions about which the compressible body can deform to form a sea. The supported elastomeric foam can form a gas tight seal in an interface when placed under minimal compression.
LINING ELEMENT
A lining element includes at least three layers and is configured to be mounted to a structure exposed to wear. The lining element has a wear-impeding polymer layer, an energy-absorbing polymer layer and a reinforcing polymer layer. The reinforcing layer is located adjacent the structure exposed to wear, whereas the energy-absorbing layer is located between the reinforcing layer and the wear-impeding layer. The wear-impeding layer is located on top of the energy-absorbing layer.
LIGHT WEIGHT, HIGH PERFORMANCE TUBED FUEL LINE
A hose includes an innermost tube formed of one or more of synthetic rubbers, fluorine polymers or combinations thereof, and a braided reinforcement layer formed of a first plurality and second plurality of flat yarns. The first plurality and second plurality of flat yarns are disposed in a one-over/one-under braiding pattern adjacent the innermost tube. An optional cover layer may be disposed outwardly adjacent the braided reinforcement layer. An optional tie layer or adhesive coating may in some cases, be disposed between the innermost tube and the braided reinforcement layer. In some other cases, the braided reinforcement layer is directly applied upon the innermost tube. The braided reinforcement layer may be formed of flat yarns containing continuous filaments that have not been twisted or textured, and may be filaments based upon thermoplastic polymers or liquid crystal polymers.
LAMINATED GLASS AND AUTOMOBILE DOOR
A laminated glass provided in an automobile door panel including two panel boards facing each other and seal members provided on facing surfaces of the panel boards at regions along a beltline, the laminated glass being openable and closable by being provided between the two panel boards so as to slide between the seal members, the laminated glass includes: a laminated glass main body including at least two glass plates and an interlayer film sandwiched between the glass plates and having a storage modulus G of 1.5×10.sup.6 Pa or more; and a viscoelastic member provided on a surface of the laminated glass main body, the viscoelastic member abutting on the seal member or the panel board and sealing a gap between the seal member or the panel board and the laminated glass main body, at a closed time of the laminated glass.
MULTILAYER TAPE
Vibration damping viscoelastic damping material laminates are described. The tapes generally include at least two viscoelastic damping material layers and at least one substrate. The tapes may optionally include one or more release liners. Also described are constrained layer systems formed by adhering the tape to a first substrate and/or second substrate undergoing vibration.
SYSTEM FOR GROUNDWATER PROTECTION
A system and method for ground water protection below a pit mine that includes: a first back fill cover over an exposed ground water; layer of polystyrene foam; a rubber membrane placed over the first foam cover; closed cell extruded polystyrene foam placed over the rubber membrane; a layer of contaminated material over the closed cell extruded polystyrene foam, wherein the layer of contaminated material is covered by polystyrene foam, a rubber membrane and polystyrene foam over the rubber membrane; and top soil covering the layer of foam, rubber membrane and foam above the contaminated material.
THERMOPLASTIC RUBBER
PRISM Thermoplastic Rubber (PTR) is a novel, composite rubber material technology principally compounded from EOL, ambient ground, whole tires through the management of a unique process governed by the application of advanced, quantum field physics. The value from this technology is to provide a virgin-material-analog that may be readily integrated at high ratio, into new tire construction using conventional tire chemistry and manufacturing techniques resulting in a sustainable and significant, positive cost-benefit ratio as compared to current tire manufacturing economics.
STRIP, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PNEUMATIC TIRE
The present invention is a strip of a thermoplastic elastomer composition to be wound spirally on a cylindrical drum to form an inner liner for a tire. The strip is composed of a layer stack of a first layer made of a thermoplastic elastomer composition containing 0.1 part by mass to 50 parts by mass of an organic derivative of clay mineral relative to 100 parts by mass of a styrene-isobutylene-styrene triblock copolymer, and a second layer made of a thermoplastic elastomer composition containing at least one of a styrene-isoprene-styrene triblock copolymer and a styrene-isobutylene diblock copolymer. The strip has a strip main body with a thickness of 0.05 mm to 1.0 mm and ear portions with a thickness thinner than the thickness of the strip main body and a width of 0.5 mm to 5.0 mm disposed on opposite sides thereof.
Repurposed Mouse Pads
Aspects of the disclosure relate to bug swatters. In one example, a bug swatter apparatus is disclosed, which includes a handle and at least one flappable pad coupled to the handle. For this example, a portion of the at least one flappable pad is configured to flap behind the handle when the handle is swung. In another example, a method is disclosed, which includes obtaining at least one mouse pad and creating a repurposed form of the at least one mouse pad. For this example, the creating comprises attaching the at least one mouse pad to a handle. In a further example, yet another bug swatter apparatus is disclosed, which includes a handle and a flat surface coupled to the handle. For this example, the flat surface includes at least one layer of adhesive material.
