Annular-pleated circular braid
09844921 · 2017-12-19 · ·

Aspects of this disclosure can be used to implement a braided cover comprising a plurality of left handed fibers and a plurality of right-handed fibers braided into a hollow tube of fabric. Such a braided cover may be adapted to form a plurality of annular ridges and annular valleys along the longitudinal length of the braided cover when compressed from an extended length to a compressed length.

A multi-use adhesive tape including a first backing layer, a first adhesive layer on at least part of a surface of the first backing layer, a second backing layer and a second adhesive layer on at least part of a surface of the second backing layer. The second adhesive layer is releasably engaged with the first backing layer and the tape is configured so that the tape can be applied to an article using the first adhesive layer and, after removal from the article, the first backing layer can be removed so that the second backing layer can be applied to the article using the second adhesive layer.

Floor mat with hidden base component

This invention relates to a washable multi-component magnetic floor mat with a hidden base component. The floor mat contains a textile component and a base component. The textile component and the base component are attached to one another by magnetic attraction. The magnetic attraction is provided by incorporation of magnetic particles in both the textile and base components. The textile component is designed to be soiled, washed, and re-used, thereby providing ideal end-use applications in areas such as building entryways. The present invention eliminates the need to wash the base component of the floor mat which results in environmental, cost and labor conservation. Alignment and deployment of the textile component with the base component in an efficient manner is also described herein.

Supported elastomeric foams and processes for making same

A supported elastomeric foam (100) includes an elastomeric matrix (102) formed of an elastomer and including a reinforcement region (104) and a foamed region (106). The foamed region includes gas filled cells (108) in the elastomer, and the reinforcement region includes a porous layer (204) having an interconnected network of pores at least partially imbibed with the elastomer. The foam can include an adhesive at a surface of the foam. A compressible seal (802) including a compressible body, which can be elastomeric foam, can also include a pattern of discontinuous adhesive regions about which the compressible body can deform to form a sea. The supported elastomeric foam can form a gas tight seal in an interface when placed under minimal compression.

METHODS OF IMPROVING ADHESION OF NON-DI-(2-ETHYLHEXYL)PHTHALATE POLYVINYL CHLORIDE TO AN ACRYLIC- OR ABS-BASED POLYMER
20170349715 · 2017-12-07 ·

The present disclosure provides methods of improving adhesion of a non-di-(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC) to an acrylic-based polymer or an ABS-based polymer. Such methods may comprise blending the acrylic-based polymer or ABS-based polymer with an impact modifier so that a rubber content in the acrylic-based polymer or ABS-based polymer is greater than 12% (w/w). Also provided are components of a device (e.g., a medical device) made by the disclosed methods.

THERMOPLASTIC POLYMER COMPOSITION WITH REDUCED MIGRATION OF STABILISERS
20230183464 · 2023-06-15 ·

A thermoplastic polymer composition (A) leads to reduced migration of stabilisers or other ingredients (I), if it contains e.g. 50 to 90 wt. %, relative to the polymer composition (A), of a thermoplastic polymer (P), which has migration barrier properties, as well as at least one stabiliser component (S) and/or a further ingredient (I), wherein the following is true for the polymer composition (A): a) the glass transition temperature T.sub.g of the thermoplastic polymer (P) is greater than the use temperature; and b) the polymer-specific constant for polymers (Ap) of the thermoplastic polymer (P) is less than I; and c) the derived diffusion coefficient (Dp) of the thermoplastic polymer (P) for mineral oil is less than 10.sup.−12 cm.sup.2/s at 20° C.; and d) the morphology of the thermoplastic polymer (P) is either single-phase homogeneous, or two-phase heterogeneous.
