Polyurethane foam and methods of forming the same

A polyurethane foam may include an isocyanate polymer component and a polyol component. The polyol component may include a polyol having a molecular weight of at least about 500 kg/mol and not greater than about 6000 kg/mol. The polyurethane foam may have an elongation of at least about 500%. The polyurethane foam may further have a density of at least about 250 g/L and a tensile strength of not greater than about 1000 kPa.

A multi-layer identification patch includes a reflective background layer comprising a front side to face away from a garment when the multi-layer identification patch is affixed to the garment, and a mask layer secured over the front side of the reflective background layer. The mask layer comprises (a) an opaque layer of flexible polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and (b) a void in the opaque layer of flexible PVC. The void has a shape that forms an identification symbol. The opaque layer of flexible PVC is secured over a first portion of the reflective background layer, thereby fixing the void that forms the identification symbol over a second portion of the reflective background layer, and thereby enabling the second portion of the reflective background layer to reflect light through the void in the shape of the identification symbol. Robust multi-purpose, multi-layer, building construction tapes and building construction framing members and related wall assemblies are disclosed that comprise a sheet metal framing member (all profiles) in combination with a new and more robust type of multi-layer building construction tape for fire safety and sound reduction. The multi-layer building construction tape comprises a flexible thermal barrier layer attached to (1) a flexible intumescent material layer having a lesser width (thereby enabling flex-lock rollover) and/or (2) a resilient unfoamed cross-linked polyethylene layer. In combination, the thermal barrier layer is on a surface of the sheet metal framing member, whereas the thermal barrier layer is attached to the intumescent layer or polyethylene layer (as the case may be) such that the thermal barrier layer is between the sheet metal framing member and the intumescent layer or the polyethylene layer. The multi-layer building construction tapes disclosed herein slow and impede the spread of fire and smoke (during a fire) and also reduces sound transmission between adjacent rooms in a building.

Composite film

The present disclosure relates to a multilayer composite that may include a first porous layer, and a first barrier layer overlying the first porous layer. The first barrier layer may include a polyaramid material, a polyimide material, or any combination thereof. The multilayer composite may have a flame resistance rating of at least about 180° C. and a 50% strain compression rating of not greater than about 600 kPa.

The multi-layer interlayer may also exhibit acoustic properties and, in some cases, may have an overall wedged thickness profile.
