CARRIER WITH LOCALIZED FIBROUS INSERT AND METHODS
A structural reinforcement for an article including a carrier that includes: (i) a mass of polymeric material having an outer surface; and (is) at least one consolidated fibrous insert having an outer surface and including at least one elongated fiber arrangement having a plurality of ordered fibers arranged in a predetermined manner. The fibrous insert is envisioned to adjoin the mass of the polymeric material in a predetermined location for carrying a predetermined load that is subjected upon the predetermined location (thereby effectively providing localized reinforcement to that predetermined location). The fibrous insert and the mass of polymeric material are of compatible materials, structures or both, for allowing the fibrous insert to be at least partially joined to the mass of the polymeric material. Disposed upon at least a portion of the carrier will be a mass of activatable material.
Chafe layer for a fluid conduit, fluid conduit, method for producing a fluid conduit and use of a polyurethane as a chafe layer and use of an ethylene copolymer as an additive
A chafe layer for a fluid conduit, wherein the chafe layer consists of thermoplastic polyurethane which contains a polyol, in particular a short-chained, diol as a chain extender and isocyanate. The polyol is a polycarbonate. A fluid conduit, a method for producing a fluid conduit as well as the use of a polyurethane and the use of an ethylene copolymer as an additive.
THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER COMPOSITION, LAMINATE STRUCTURE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAID LAMINATE STRUCTURE
A thermoplastic elastomer composition including an acrylic block copolymer (I) and a hydrogenated block copolymer (II). The content of the acrylic block copolymer (I) is 70 to 300 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the hydrogenated block copolymer (II); the hydrogenated block copolymer (II) is a hydrogenated product of a block copolymer (P) including a polymer block (A1) containing structural units derived from an aromatic vinyl compound, and a polymer block (B1) containing 1 to 100 mass % of structural units (b1) derived from farnesene and 99 to 0 mass % of structural units (b2) derived from a conjugated diene other than farnesene, the mass ratio [(A1)/(B1)] of the polymer block (A1) to the polymer block (B1) being 1/99 to 70/30; and the hydrogenation ratio of carbon-carbon double bonds in the polymer block (B1) is 50 to 100 mol %.
CONTROLLABLE LIQUID TRANSPORT MATERIAL, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THEREOF
Provided herein are a controllable liquid transport material, a controllable liquid transport system and a method for preparing a controllable liquid transport material, where a first region of the controllable liquid transport material is treated to be hydrophobic, while a plurality of second regions partially contacted or completely separated with different shapes are treated to have a gradient or varied wettabilities and/or pore sizes for passively controllable liquid transport, and/or integrated with a smart material for actively controllable liquid transport driven by an external force, allowing efficiently and controllably directional transport of a liquid e.g., sweat. The controllable liquid transport system comprises a controllable liquid transport material used as a liquid transport layer and a breathable, waterproof protective layer.
MULTILAYER FILM AND USE THEREOF AS A BARRIER EFFECT FOR TEXTILE APPLICATIONS
A thermo-adhesive multilayer film based on thermoplastic polyurethane includes a barrier layer having a material with anti-dye migration properties selected from: ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl acetate, polyamides, cellulose derivatives, polyvinylidene chloride and combinations. The barrier layer is interposed between two layers, each having a mixture of a thermoplastic polyurethane with a compatibilizing agent selected from: co-polymers modified with maleic anhydride, co-polymers modified with epoxy groups, co-polymers containing hydroxyl groups and combinations thereof. A decorative multilayer film includes the thermo-adhesive multilayer film and a further decorative layer, which provides an aesthetic effect. A process of co-extruding the layers obtains the thermo-adhesive multilayer film and the subsequent bonding thereof with the decorative layer obtains the decorative multilayer film. The decorative multilayer film decorates substrates in the field of textiles, clothing, footwear and accessories. A finished decorated article includes a substrate on which the decorative multilayer film is applied.
POLYAMIDE-METAL LAMINATES
Novel polyamide-metal laminates which have desirable hydrolysis resistance are provided. The laminates comprise (A) a metal, (B) a tie layer, and (C) a polyamide composition. The tie layer is formed from a composition containing (B1) a polymer containing a comonomer having at least two adjacent carboxylic acid groups and (B2) an amino-silane containing a primary amine and at least one hydroxyl group.
