TRANSFER FILM AND MEMBRANE COVERINGS FOR PANEL PRODUCTS
20200101710 · 2020-04-02 ·

A membrane covered panel and a membrane covered panel production method are provided wherein an elastomeric membrane, and preferably, an aqueous elastomeric resin-based membrane, is applied to a finished panel construct, prior to pressing of the membrane covered panel. The method is used to produce panels which can be used in the production of flooring materials, wall panels, furniture, countertops, and the like. The membrane is applied to a transfer film, which transfer film can be removed at any time prior to, or after the pressing operation. The panels produced have a durable but elastic surface which can protect the surfaces of the panel construct. The elastomeric covering on the panel construct also preferably provides a surface which is abrasion resistant, and provides better acoustical properties while providing a soft touch haptic surface.

Honeycomb structural body and method of manufacturing honeycomb structural body
10583642 · 2020-03-10 · ·

A honeycomb structural body includes multiple cores, at least face sheet, and at least one reinforcement sheet. The multiple cores each have a honeycomb structure, and are bonded to each other with foamed adhesive in a direction in which the number of multiple pores formed by the honeycomb structure increases. The at least one face sheet is adhered to the multiple cores so as to cover the multiple pores. The reinforcement sheet is placed between the multiple cores and the at least one face sheet, at a position where the reinforcement sheet covers the foamed adhesive.

Joining device and joining method

A joining device includes a pair of cylindrical rotors 210 and 220, holding surfaces 211 and 221 of which for holding a pair of sheet-like members 30, respectively, have a width smaller than a width of the pair of sheet-like members 30. The joining device has a conveyance unit 200 which superimposes the pair of sheet-like members sequentially while conveying the pair of sheet-like members, by rotating the pair of cylindrical rotors, and joining units (first joining units 300) which join portions of the superimposed pair of sheet-like members to each other sequentially, the portions protruding beyond the holding surfaces of the cylindrical rotors.

Some tools include first and second plates (14a-14f), wherein each of the plates has an inner face and an opposing outer face, and the plates are configured to be disposed on opposing sides of a stack of one or more laminae such that the inner faces of the plates face the stack to define an interior volume (18) containing the stack between the inner faces, one or more seals (176, 176a-176e) configured to be disposed between the plates such that the one or more seals surround at least a portion of the interior volume, and a port (224) configured to be coupled to the first plate, the second plate, and/or at least one of the one or more seals, the port configured to permit fluid communication between the portion of the interior volume and a vacuum source (26).

Method for preparing multi-layer optical laminates

Methods for preparing multi-layer optical laminates include placing an optical film that is free form an adhesive layer between first and second glass substrates that are free of an adhesive layer, placing this laminate under vacuum, and then heating the laminate under pressure to a temperature above the softening temperature of the optical film. The glass substrates are free of an adhesive layer but may include a silane surface treatment. The resulting multi-layer laminate is optically clear and does not show scattering of reflected light by the optical film.

Method for manufacturing glass resin laminated body

A method of manufacturing a glass resin laminated body includes a step of sticking a glass film on a resin film via an adhesive layer while holding the glass film and the resin film between a first roller that presses against the resin film and a second roller that is disposed opposite to the first roller and that presses against the glass film. A ratio of an elastic modulus P1 of a surface layer of the first roller to an elastic modulus P2 of the resin film P1/P2 satisfies a relation of 310.sup.3P1/P21.0.
