Inflatable panel and method of manufacturing same
A method of making an inflatable panel that includes the steps of: superimposing a second layer of a material of low gas permeability upon a first layer of a material of low gas permeability; creating a plurality of first elongated seals by intermittently sealing together the first and second layers, thereby defining a plurality of first tubes between adjacent pairs of the first elongated seals. The method also includes sealing rear ends of the first tubes; inflating the first tubes from front ends thereof with a gas; and then sealing the front ends of the first tubes, such that the gas within each of said tubes is prevented from flowing between the first tubes.
Optical assembly and the method to make the same
The optical assembly comprises: a first optical film having a first surface; an adhesive disposed on the first surface of the first optical film, wherein the adhesive comprises a photo-curable portion and a thermally-curable portion mixed with the photo-curable portion, wherein the weight ratio of the thermally-curable portion of the adhesive to the adhesive is less than 5%; and a second optical film comprising a photo-curable material, wherein the adhesive is bonded to the second optical film through the bonding between the photo-curable portion of the adhesive and the photo-curable material of the second optical film.
Films and bags with visually distinct regions and methods of making the same
One or more implementations of a multi-layer film include a first substantially un-pigmented layer non-continuously bonded to a second pigmented layer. The multi-layer film includes an unexpected appearance differing from the appearance of the pigmented layer. In one or more embodiments, the multi-layer film includes a metallic appearance despite the pigmented layer being devoid of metallic pigment. The multi-layer film also includes areas that are visually distinct from areas of the film with the unexpected appearance. The visually-distinct areas comprise areas in which the first substantially un-pigmented layer non-continuously bonded is in intimate contact with the second pigmented layer. The visually-distinct areas have the appearance of the pigmented layer. One or more implementations also include methods of making multi-layer films and bags with an unexpected appearance and visually-distinct areas.
Air-sealed body capable of automatically opening air valve
An air-sealed body capable of automatically opening an air valve is provided. First, the two inner films are laminated between two outer films. An air passage and a plurality of air columns are formed through joining by means of heat-sealing. Air inlets are formed by heat-sealing in the two inner films at the places where the heat-resisting material is coated, and a plurality of heat-sealed blocks are formed through joining by means of heat-sealing at the sides of the air inlets. When air is filled in, the two outer films of the air passage are pulled open outward in a longitudinal direction, the air passage contracts in a lateral direction due to a drop height of the heat-sealed blocks. The two inner films are squeezed by the heat-sealed blocks to be pulled open outward in the longitudinal direction to open the air inlet.
COLLAPSIBLE ARTISTIC SCULPTURE AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
Disclosed is a method of making an extensible sculpture including providing a plurality of flexible material sheets; cutting each of the plurality of flexible material sheets to form a plurality of at least three sculptural pieces; arranging the sculptural pieces in a predetermined order; defining a first set of connection columns on the top face of the first sculptural piece; using a first connector to fixedly connect the bottom face of the second sculptural piece to the top face of the first sculptural piece at the first set of connection columns; defining a second set of connection columns on the top face of the second sculptural piece; and using a second connector to fixedly connect the bottom face of the third sculptural piece to the top face of the second sculptural piece at the second set of connection columns.
Air bag packaging arrangement and self-adhesive checking valve
An air bag packaging arrangement and a self-adhesive checking valve, the air bag packaging arrangement includes an air bag and an air valve which is the self-adhesive checking valve. The air bag includes first and second cell overlapped layers to form an air chamber and a valve opening. The air valve includes first and second sealing films overlapped between the first and second cell layers, and a strengthening film provided between the first valve film and the first cell film to strengthen a joint strength between the first valve film and the first cell film, so as to prevent the first valve film from being broken, so as to further avoid an air leakage.
Disposable ice pack
This disclosure includes ice packs that comprise paper and absorbent material, and also includes various methods of making, adding liquid to, freezing, shipping, and/or using such ice packs. This disclosure also includes assemblies that include one or more such ice packs, such as, for example, a container of a plurality of such ice packs in dry, wet, and/or frozen states, or a container that includes an ice pack in a hydrated, frozen state and one or more perishable items.
Sealed module with glue guiding features and method for making same
A sealed module is provided in the present disclosure. The sealed module includes a first substrate with a lens unit and an adhesive geometry formed around the lens unit, a second substrate stacked onto the first substrate, and a sealing wall for sealing the first substrate with the second substrate to form a closed cavity. The lens unit is located in the closed cavity, and the adhesive geometry serves as an adhesive barrier. The adhesive geometry includes glue guiding features for controlling a track of adhesive glue during a stacking process between the first substrate and the second substrate. The present disclosure further provides a method for making a sealed module.
LAMINATE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
A laminate includes a first sheet containing first fibers, a second sheet laminated on the first sheet and containing second fibers, and an adhesive disposed between the first sheet and the second sheet. At least a part of the adhesive is disposed in an end portion along the edge side of the laminate so as to form a linear first region, and the first sheet is adhered to the second sheet via the first region. Alternatively, a mass per unit area of the adhesive present in an end portion along an edge side of the laminate is larger than a mass per unit area of the adhesive present in a portion near a central part of the laminate rather than the end portion.
Method of fabrication of laminates of elastic material suitable for dielectric elastomer sensing
In one aspect the invention provides a method of fabricating a laminate of flexible and compliant layers of material, such as used to provide a dielectric elastomer sensor. According to the method a flexible and compliant layer of material which is affixed to a substrate to avoid strain during processing is bonded to another layer of flexible and compliant material and released from the substrate to form a laminate. The layer of flexible and compliant material affixed to the substrate may be inspected prior to bonding.
