There is provided a skin foam-in-place foamed article comprising a pad (15) and a bag-like outer material (20) covering the pad (15). The outer material (20) has a top layer (21) and a liner layer (22) made of a foamed resin. The liner layer (22) has a closed cell structure. A pad-side skin layer (27a) having a density higher than that of a bulk layer (26) is provided on the liner layer (22), on a side of the pad (15). A corona treatment is applied to the pad-side skin layer (27a).

A method of manufacture (200) of an inflatable product with an attachable foam finish is described that includes modifying (202) a molecular structure of at least one foam sheet; gluing (206) a flexible, glueable or weldable material onto the modified at least one foam sheet to create a bonded structure; and gluing (220) the bonded structure to the inflatable product.

A winding assembly for a protective device of a motor vehicle, and a method for producing such a winding assembly. Such a winding assembly includes a form-stable winding shaft and a flexible winding web held on the winding shaft such that it can be wound up and unwound. The winding shaft is formed by a form-stabilized wound-up first portion of a flexible sheet-form material and the flexible winding web is formed by a second portion of the flexible sheet-form material adjoining the first portion, whereby the winding shaft and the winding web are in continuous one-piece form.
Controlling the quality of a manufactured article
Systems and methods for monitoring the quality of a surface treatment applied to an article in a manufacturing process are provided. A surface treatment may be applied to at least a portion of an article. A thermal profile of the article may be obtained and used to determine temperature indications of different regions of the article to which the surface treatment has been applied. A standard model of the article may be obtained that includes model regions having model temperature ranges. The temperature indications of the article can be compared with the model temperature ranges to determine if any temperature indications are outside of a corresponding model temperature range. The article may be a shoe part. The surface treatments may include the application of heat, plasma, dye, paint, primer, and/or the application of other materials, substances, and/or processes.

A sealing method includes dispensing an adhesive on an edge surface of a first part, performing a first activation for hardening the adhesive to a predetermined hardness, performing a second activation for triggering appearance of adhesion strength of the adhesive, assembling the first part and a second part, and pressing the first part and the second part against each other.

A three-dimensional decorative piece made of a thermoplastic synthetic resin is produced by subjecting, to high-frequency dielectric heating, a decorative piece material that includes an upper layer that includes a thermoplastic synthetic resin film having a vapor-deposited metal layer, an intermediate layer that includes a thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet, and a lower layer that includes a thermal bonding film, the decorative piece including: a first printing layer printed using a transparent color ink, a matte ink, or a glossy ink, as an upper surface of the upper layer; and a second printing layer in which a fine line is printed using a transparent UV ink, on an upper surface of the first printing layer. It is desirable that the fine line of the second printing layer has a width of 0.1 mm to 0.25 mm.
Adhesive bonding composition and method of use
A method of and system for adhesive bonding by a) providing a polymerizable adhesive composition on a surface of an element to be bonded to form an assembly; b) irradiating the assembly with radiation at a first wavelength capable of vulcanization of bonds in the polymerizable adhesive composition by activation of sulfur-containing compound with at least one selected from x-ray, e-beam, visible, or infrared light to thereby generate ultraviolet light in the polymerizable adhesive composition; and c) adhesively joining two or more components together by way of the polymerizable adhesive composition, and a curable polymer for use therein.
