Drainage Management in Multi-Ply Papermaking
Methods of producing a multi-ply paper product are provided. The methods comprise applying coagulant and/or hybrid coagulant-flocculant composition to an upper ply substrate disposed adjacent and above a lower ply substrate in an amount such that a portion of the coagulant and/or the hybrid coagulant-flocculant composition passes through the upper ply substrate. Preferably, the lower ply substrate has a greater freeness than the upper ply substrate. The methods of the present disclosure preferably allow for efficient use of RDF chemicals while making use of the innate freeness differences between the upper and lower ply substrates.
Disposable towel produced with large volume surface depressions
A disposable tissue or paper towel product including at least two plies, an exposed outer surface of at least one of the two plies comprising a plurality of pockets, the plurality of pockets having an average volume greater than 0.4 mm.sup.3 and an average surface area of 2.5 mm.sup.2.
REPULPABLE CONTAINER
A repulpable insulated container assembly having a container formed of paper such as corrugated cardboard or varying paper materials and defining an interior; and a repulpable insert placed within the interior of the container and formed of a first paper layer; and a paper fiber pad coupled to the first paper layer.
LIQUID REPELLENT FILM OR SHEET, AND PACKAGING MATERIAL USING SAME
The present invention is a liquid-repellent film or sheet that exhibits an excellent liquid repellency, and a packaging material using the same. The liquid-repellent film or sheet comprises: a substrate layer (2); an adhesive layer (3) that comprises a thermoplastic resin, and is formed on at least one plane of the substrate layer (2); and a liquid-repellent layer (4) that comprises a resin (6) having a liquid-repellent moiety, and hydrophilic particles (5), and is formed on the surface of the adhesive layer (3).
Melamine decorative board
Provided is a melamine decorative board having a milky-white core layer and less warpage. When the melamine decorative board is bonded onto a base plate such as a plywood, a particle board, and a steel board, a color tone of the base plate does not appear through to a decorative layer. Stacked and thermal-pressure-formed are: a resin-impregnated patterned paper as the decorative layer; multiple sheets of a resin-impregnated core paper, as the core layer, produced by impregnating a whitish fibrous base material with a resin liquid including: a condensate of melamine and formaldehyde, and a divalent polyalkylene glycol or a derivative thereof, or a tri- or more valent polyalkylene glycol polyvalent ether, and drying the whitish fibrous base material; and a resin-impregnated backside paper, as a backside layer, produced by impregnating a fibrous base material with a condensate of melamine and formaldehyde and drying the fibrous base material.
LIQUID REPELLENT FILM
The present invention is a liquid-repellent film that exhibits an excellent liquid repellency, and a packaging material of which a surface is formed of the same. The liquid-repellent film comprises: an undercoat part (90) formed unevenly on the substrate surface by microparticles (70) and a thermoplastic resin (80); and a topcoat part (60) having: (i) a minute uneven structured part that includes hydrophilic microparticles (20) having a smaller particle size than the microparticles (70); (ii) a liquid-repellent moiety (40) that bonds to the surface of the minute uneven structured part; and (iii) a binder resin (50) that is present between the surface of the undercoat part (90) and the minute uneven structured part, and is distributed to cover the bonding part of the minute uneven structured part and the liquid-repellent moiety (20).
PAPER-SPECIFIC MOISTURE CONTROL IN A TRAVELING PAPER WEB
A network-based system and method for providing desired moisture set point values for individual papers lines based on the physical properties of each liner and the atmospheric conditions associated with a corrugator is disclosed. The desired moisture set point values are based on the hygroexpansivity of each individual paper liner. Once the moisture set point value has been determined, a conditioning apparatus adjusts a moisture value for each liner in order to tune the post-warp characteristics of the final corrugated product.
DOUBLE-WALL PAPERBOARD CONTAINERS HAVING AQUEOUS BARRIER COATINGS
A coated paperboard container includes an inner paperboard substrate, an outer paperboard substrate, a first aqueous barrier coating located on the inner paperboard substrate, and a second aqueous barrier coating located on the outer paperboard substrate. The inner paperboard substrate and the outer paperboard substrate are coupled with an adhesive. The first aqueous barrier coating and the second aqueous barrier coating include a pigment and a binder and the first aqueous barrier coating is heat sealable.
EXPANDABLE WEB WITH IN-SITU COMBINATION OF EXPANSION MATERIAL COMPONENTS
A method for making an expansion wall is provided. The method can include applying a matrix to a first ply and applying an expansion element to the surface of the matrix. A second ply is applied over the first ply to trap the matrix and expansion element therebetween. The applied expansion element is entrained into the applied matrix to provide an expansion material that is configured to expand to, and solidify in, an expanded condition upon activation.
DISPOSABLE TOWEL PRODUCED WITH LARGE VOLUME SURFACE DEPRESSIONS
A disposable tissue or paper towel product including at least two plies, an exposed outer surface of at least one of the two plies comprising a plurality of pockets, the plurality of pockets having an average volume greater than 0.4 mm.sup.3 and an average surface area of 2.5 mm.sup.2, wherein the product is formed using a structured fabric with both a left handed and right handed twill pattern that reverses itself periodically.
