Method of forming an article of apparel
An article of apparel includes a composite material. The composite material includes a pliable first layer and a resilient second layer, where the first and second layers are secured to each other via a patterned strand network. In forming the composite material, the second layer is stretched and maintained under tension while the first layer is secured to the second layer via the patterned strand network. The tension on the second layer is then released, resulting in contraction of the second layer in relation to the first layer and an outward buckling or protrusion of the first layer in relation to the second layer to form protruding cells along the composite material that are bounded by portions of the patterned strand network. The patterned strand network can be formed using embroidery with one or more auxetic patterns in the stitching.
Roof Underlayment
An air and water barrier article comprised of multiple layers. The layers include a porous layer, a polymeric layer disposed on a front side of the porous layer, and a pressure sensitive adhesive disposed on a second side of the porous layer. In certain embodiments, a top polymeric layer having hydrophobic and UV resistant properties will be provided on a surface of the first polymeric layer opposite the adhesive layer. Each of the polymeric layers and the porous layer can be formed of a material(s) having a Tg between −40° C. and 20° C. The top layer, if present, can have a Tg between −5 and 30° C. The barrier article can provide nail seal ability and have a weight of less than 30 ounces per square yard.
Active agent-containing articles that exhibit consumer acceptable article in-use properties
Active agent-containing articles, for example fibrous structures, that exhibit consumer acceptable article in-use properties, such as article peel strength, flexibility, and/or dissolvability, and methods for making same are provided.
Molded article and production method therefor
A molded product having both small specific gravity and high stiffness and also suffering few sink marks is described along with a method for the production thereof, where the molded product includes a porous body (A) integrated with an injection molded body (B), the porous body (A) having an apparent density of 0.05 to 0.8 g/cm.sup.3, the average thickness (tA) of the porous body (A) and the average thickness (tB) of the injection molded body (B) satisfying the relation tA≥3×tB, and the injection molded body (B) covering at least one face of the porous body (A).
Composite Cooling Film Comprising an Organic Polymeric Layer, a UV-Absorbing Layer, and a Reflective Metal Layer
A composite cooling film including non-fluorinated organic polymeric layer, a metal layer disposed inwardly of the non-fluorinated organic polymeric layer, and an antisoiling, ultraviolet-absorbing hardcoat layer that is disposed outwardly of the non-fluorinated organic polymeric layer.
REFORMABLE EPOXY RESIN FOR COMPOSITES
The present invention contemplates a method for forming a composite structure including a plurality of rigid layers and one or more reformable epoxy resin layers. The resulting composite is molded to form a non-planar composite structure.
Garment incorporating waterproof or water resilient aqueous polyurethane dispersions and/or having altered stress profile
Articles, such as garments, including films comprising dried aqueous polyurethane dispersions are disclosed, whereby the garment has an altered stress which is exhibited during wear of the garment and/or has one or more sections of waterproof or water-resilient fabric. The film may be bonded to the fabric of the article to provide a fabric or film laminate.
Pre-cut adhesive supports for anatomical support, pain reduction, or therapeutic treatment
An elongate strap support system for anatomical support, pain reduction, or therapeutic treatment includes a package containing a first elongate strap support and at least one additional elongate strap support. In one example, the first elongate strap support includes a woven fabric support layer including synthetic fibers. The woven fabric is shaped so as to form an elongated strap with rounded portions. The woven fabric is substantially resistant to stretching in one direction under such test conditions as those specified in ASTM D3759. The first elongate strap support additionally includes an adhesive layer on the support layer for adhesive attachment of the woven fabric support layer to an outer skin surface of a body and a removable cover layer on the adhesive layer.
Fabric having tobacco entangled with structural fibers
A smokeless tobacco product includes smokeless tobacco and structural fibers. The structural fibers forming a network in which the smokeless tobacco is entangled. The structural fibers have a composition different from the smokeless tobacco. The tobacco-entangled fabric can have an overall oven volatiles content of at least 10 weight percent. In some embodiments, the structural fibers form a nonwoven network. In some embodiments, fibrous structures of the smokeless tobacco are entangled with the structural fibers.
Graphite sheet and method for manufacturing same
A graphite sheet having a ratio of thermal diffusivity in horizontal and vertical directions of 300 or more is disclosed. Also, a graphite sheet having a ratio of thermal diffusivity in a vertical direction of 2.0 mm.sup.2/s or less is disclosed. The graphite sheet has excellent thermal conductivity in horizontal and vertical directions and excellent flexibility at the same time and can be produced at low manufacturing cost, thereby holding an economic advantage.
