Compostable insulation for shipping container
A thermal insulation article includes a thermally insulating pad shaped to be positioned in a cavity of a rectangular prism shipping container. The pad includes a solid compostable panel formed primarily of starch and/or plant fiber pulp that holds together as a single unit, and a water-proof or water-resistant film forming a pocket enclosing the panel. The panel includes a first section, a second section, and a third section connecting the first section to the second section, the first and second section each having a central portion and two flaps that extend from the central portion beyond the third section, and wherein the panel is foldable into an open box.
AIRLAID COMPOSITE SHEET MATERIAL
Provided is a composite sheet that is particularly useful as an AQDL component in absorbent articles. The composite sheet includes a fluid acquisition component and an airlaid component. The airlaid component may include one or more airlaid layers that are successively formed overlying each other. Each of the airlaid layers are adjacent to, and in direct contact with, immediately adjacent layers of the airlaid component so that adjacent layers are in fluid communication with respect to each other. The fluid acquisition component includes a nonwoven fabric comprising a carded nonwoven fabric comprised of a plurality of staple fibers that are air through bonded to each other to form a coherent nonwoven fabric. The airlaid layer(s) include a blend of cellulose and non-cellulose staple fibers. The staple fibers may be bicomponent fibers having a polyethyelene sheath and a polypropylene or polyethylene terephthalate core, and mixtures of such fibers.
Flexible layered sheet
A flexible layered fabric sheet comprising a porous front layer and a pre-seeded substrate layer, where the seeds are in-between the two layers (rather than at the back of the substrate layer), for supporting root growth, the two layers together having an upper and lower edge and being attached together with one or more non-continuous seams between the upper and lower edges, which seams have a component of direction parallel to the upper and/or lower edge, and wherein the non-continuous seams enable water to exit the layered fabric sheet at its lower edge, and the non-continuous seams further serve to slow water flow through the water sheet. The seams also serve to keep the two layers from separating which would hamper the penetration of the sapling through the front porous layer, and thus stunt growth.
Process for applying film backing to synthetic turf and product
The invention comprises a method of making synthetic turf. The method comprises applying an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer adhesive to a first primary surface of a tufted primary backing to form a coating thereon and wherein the primary backing is tufted with a plurality of synthetic filaments to form a face pile extending outwardly from a second primary surface of the synthetic turf opposite the first primary surface and heating the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer adhesive to a temperature above its melting point so that the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer adhesive melts and at least partially flows into the primary backing. The method also comprises heating a linear low-density polyethylene film to a temperature below the softening point of the film and pressing the heated linear low-density polyethylene film into contact with the polymer coated first primary surface of the tufted primary backing. The method further comprises allowing the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer adhesive and the linear low-density polyethylene film to cool, whereby the linear low-density polyethylene film is adhered to the tufted primary backing.
BIO-BASED ELASTOMER COMPOSITION AND FILM AND LAMINATE PREPARED THEREFROM
The present invention discloses a composition for preparing bio-based elastomer film with high moisture permeability, and a bio-based elastomer film and a laminate therefrom, wherein the composition comprises: 5%-95% bio-based elastomer material, 0-80% resin polymer, 0.01-90% inorganic powder material having a particle size within 100 μm and/or organic low molecular material having a molecular weight within 2000 Daltons, and 0-10% organic anti-blocking agent (dispersant). The bio-based elastomer film and laminate of the present invention have excellent moisture permeability and mechanical performance, which can be widely used in various fields including outdoor sporting goods, clothing, medical treatment, food packaging and shoe materials, and which are environmentally friendly and green products.
Silicone-gel-coated adhesive layer structure
The present invention relates to a silicone-gel-coated, adhesive layer structure, a method for the production thereof as well as the use thereof. The layer structure comprises a porous backing material, an intermediate layer applied to one side of the porous backing material and an adhesive layer made of a silicone gel applied to the intermediate layer.
Flexible furniture with wood panels and related methods
A flexible article is provided having a core formed from a plurality of laminar panels that are inter-connected to provide an expandable structure upon movement of the panels away from each other. Opposite ends of the core terminate in a pair of end panels whereby the end panels may be moved apart to expand the expandable structure. Each of the panels are made from wood material. The panels, for example, include two wood sheets with longitudinally oriented grains and a flexible backing sheet that is sandwiched and adhered between the two wood sheets.
TRIM ELEMENT COMPRISING A FUNCTIONAL LAYER MADE OF CARBON MATERIAL
A trim element includes at least one support layer having an inner face and an outer face and at least one functional layer of carbon material extending over at least part of the inner face and/or over at least part of the outer face of the support layer. A part of the functional layer defines a pattern having at least one conductive area of carbon material and at least one non-conductive area formed by a through-opening in the functional layer, the conductive area being powered by a current source electrically connected to the conductive area, the pattern forming at least a part of an electrical circuit arranged to perform a function.
TRIM ELEMENT COMPRISING A HEATING ELEMENT MADE FROM A CARBON MATERIAL
A trim element includes at least one support layer having an inner face and an outer face and at least one functional layer made from a carbon material extending over at least part of the inner face or over at least part of the outer face of the support layer. At least part of the functional layer defines at least one heating element formed by a pattern that includes at least one conductive area made from carbon material and at least one nonconductive area formed by a through opening in the functional layer, the conductive area being supplied by a current source electrically connected to the conductive area.
Composite textile fabrics
A composite textile fabric that includes a first (face) fabric layer, and a second (back) fabric layer that is formed concurrently with the first fabric layer in a plaited construction. The second fabric includes a plurality of anchored regions at which the second fabric layer is anchored to, and in intimate contact with, the first fabric layer. The second fabric layer also includes a plurality of floating regions, overlying and unattached to the first fabric layer, interspersed between the anchored regions.
