The present invention is directed toward a method of making a composite structure including receiving a substantially planar nonwoven spunbond layer including a plurality of multicomponent fibers, thermally bonding the nonwoven spunbond layer at a first bond temperature, laying down a meltblown layer on top of the thermally bonded nonwoven spunbond layer to form an intermediate structure, and thermally bonding the intermediate structure at a second bond temperature to form a final composite structure. Composite structures including a spunbond layer and a meltblown layer, wherein the composite structure has a tensile strength of at least about 130 N/2.54 cm in both machine and cross directions, a tear strength of at least 3.0 N/2.54 cm, and an LRV of about 2.0 or higher are also provided herein.

Patterned apertured webs

A patterned apertured web is disclosed. The patterned apertured web includes a plurality of land areas in the patterned apertured web and a plurality of apertures defined in the patterned apertured web. At least some land areas of the plurality of land areas surround at least some apertures of the plurality of apertures. The patterned apertured web has an Effective Open Area in the range of about 3% to about 30%, according to the Aperture Test herein. The plurality of apertures include a first set of apertures defining a first shape and a second set of apertures defining a second shape. The first shape is positioned within the second shape.

CD extensible nonwoven composite

A nonwoven composite that has a dimension in a machine direction and a cross-machine direction is provided. The composite comprises a nonwoven facing positioned adjacent to an elastic film. The nonwoven facing contains a spunbond web that is formed by necking a base spunbond web. The base spunbond web includes a plurality of fibers generally oriented in the machine direction and exhibiting a machine direction tensile strength and cross-machine direction tensile strength. The ratio of the machine direction tensile strength to the cross-machine direction tensile strength is about 4:1 or more.

Elasticated materials and articles comprising elasticated materials are disclosed. In an embodiment, an elasticated material may comprise a first layer, second layer, an elastomeric strand disposed between the first and second layers, and a plurality of bonds bonding the first and second layers together. The strand may have straight and arcuate portions. The bonds may comprise a first and a second bond and may be disposed on opposite sides of the strand and separated a distance less than an un-tensioned diameter of the strand. The first and second bonds may be disposed along a strand straight portion. The plurality of bonds may further comprise a third and fourth bond which are longitudinally adjacent and disposed on opposite sides of the strand and spaced apart a distance greater than the un-tensioned diameter of the strand. The third and fourth bonds may be disposed along a strand arcuate portion.

A multi-layered fire-resistant roofing underlayment is disclosed. The roofing underlayment has a core of aluminum foil. On each side of the aluminum foil is a layer of nonwoven material. A lamination coating is between the aluminum foil layer and the layers of nonwoven material. At the bottom of the roofing underlayment is a backside coating layer. The roofing underlayment may be utilized in bats or rolls.

A system of pantiliners and menstrual pads that can be used to alleviate undesirable conditions associated with dysmenorrhea or other physiological conditions is provided. The pantiliners of the invention include a top layer of composite material, a ventilation layer, and a bottom layer of breathable material. The menstrual pads of the invention include a top layer of composite material, an air-laid layer, a layer of super adsorbent polymer inside the air-laid layer, a ventilation layer, and a bottom layer of breathable material. The present system of pantiliners and menstrual pads is helpful in providing a decrease of pain and other unwanted symptoms during a menstrual cycle. In another advantage, the right placement guide and the left placement guide are provided to assist in placing the menstrual pads of the invention accurately in relation to the undergarment of the user.

Filtering fabric and process for forming same

Embodiments disclosed herein include a stitched filtering fabric including a barrier layer configured to inhibit air flow through the filtering fabric, a yarn stitched through and forming a plurality of stitch holes in the barrier layer, and a first yarn layer comprising interlocking loops of the yarn. The barrier layer is configured to direct air flow through the yarn within the stitched holes.
