Disclosed is a bionic fiber-reinforced composite material with high impact resistance and a preparation method thereof. Bionic fiber composite material is composed of positive and negative spiral fiber resin layers, which are alternately laid in a particular proportion and then heated and cured under pressure. The positive and negative spiral fiber resin layers are non-coaxial and uniformly rotated and stacked along their respective central axes periodically. The bionic fiber resin layer is formed by infiltrating a structurally bionic fiber material with a modified resin. The bionic structures include a scorpion claw structure, a jaw foot structure of mantis shrimp and a combined structure in the horn sheath of small tail Han sheep and pheasant feathers. Significantly, bionic fiber-reinforced composite material effectively improves the impact resistance and interlayer toughness of the fiber composite material by undergoing the combinatorial bionics of the structure of fiber material and the layering method.

A stitched multi-axial reinforcement and a method of producing a stitched multi-axial reinforcement. The stitched multi-axial reinforcement may be used in all such applications that reinforcements are generally needed and especially in such applications where either Vacuum Infusion technology or Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) technology for distributing the resin in the mold is used. The stitched multi-axial reinforcement is especially applicable in the manufacture of wind turbine blades, boats, sporting equipment, storage tanks, bus, trailer, train and truck panels, etc., and generally in all such structures that are subjected to stress in more than one direction.

NONWOVEN FABRIC FOR SEPARATION MEMBRANE AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME

The present invention provides a nonwoven fabric for a separation membrane which can prevent a bleed-through of a resin solution used for coating in a step of producing the separation membrane, can produce a separation membrane having a large permeate flux of a liquid by non-solvent induced phase separation, has high adhesiveness between a coating membrane and the nonwoven fabric, and can make the coating membrane thin, and a method of producing the same. In an exemplary aspect of the present invention, a two-layer nonwoven fabric 10 for a separation membrane is configured to have a surface layer 11 and a back surface layer 12, a coating surface of a coating solution during membrane formation is a surface 11a of the surface layer 11, and, when the nonwoven fabric 10 is impregnated with the coating solution for membrane formation, the surface layer 11 has a large Laplace force and the back surface layer 12 has a small Laplace force. The nonwoven fabric 10 for a separation membrane can be produced by sequentially papermaking a fiber dispersion liquid DS1 for a surface layer including one or more kinds of fine fibers FF having a small fiber diameter and one or more kinds of thick fibers TF having a fiber diameter larger than that of the fine fibers FF and a fiber dispersion liquid DS2 for a back surface layer consisting of the thick fibers TF using a wet papermaking method.

DUAL-LAYER GAS FILTERS AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MAKING THE SAME

Filter media and filters are provided that include at least two layers and a plurality of nanoparticles dispersed in depth within at least one of the layers. A gas filter comprises a first layer of fibers, a second layer of fibers bonded to the first layer and a plurality of nanoparticles incorporated into the first layer. The nanoparticles increase the overall surface area within the filter, which increases its filtration efficiency and allows for the capture of submicron contaminants without significantly compromising other factors, such as pressure drop (i.e., air flow) through the filter. In addition, the filters disclosed herein are capable of withstanding rigorous conditioning, which allows the filter to achieve the same level of filtration performance throughout the lifetime of the filter. Systems, devices and methods are also provided for manufacturing such filters.
