Disclosed is a polyolefin microporous membrane including a multilayer film having two or more layers. In this polyolefin microporous membrane, at least one surface layer has a thickness of not less than 0.2 m but not more than 5 m and contains inorganic particles, while at least one layer contains a polyethylene and has an air permeability of not less than 50 second/100 cc but not more than 1000 second/100 cc and a puncture strength of not less than 3.0 N/20 m.

In an embodiment, a hybrid structure having suspension quality, comprises a core member having an outer surface, a reducible-volume layer associated with the outer surface of the core member and having a reducible volume at least at a number of regions thereof, and a covering layer having an exterior and an interior surface and connected to the core member via the reducible-volume layer by a connection arrangement.

An acoustic panel for an aircraft nacelle includes a cellular layer configured to trap noise, a backplate fixed to one surface of the cellular layer and a facesheet fixed to another, opposite, surface of the cellular layer. The facesheet includes a layer of a preimpregnated woven material containing weft yarns spaced apart from one another and warp yarns spaced apart from one another so that the facesheet exhibits openings between the yarns.

A scrubbing wipe includes a scrim that includes a plurality of filaments, and a formed film attached to the scrim. Implementations described herein include films with maintained or decreased light transmittance despite a reduction in gauge. In particular, one or more implementations include a multi-layer film with each layer having differing opacity agents. The combination of the two different opacity agents in two different layers can have a synergistic effect that provide decreased light transmittance. Indeed, in one or more embodiments a multi-layer film with differing opacity agents in each layer has a decreased light transmittance despite a reduction in gauge and opacity agents.

An expanded multilayer integral geogrid includes a plurality of oriented strands interconnected by partially oriented junctions having an array of openings therein that is produced from a coextruded or laminated multilayer polymer starting sheet. The integral geogrid has a multilayer construction, with at least one inner layer thereof having a structure that is expanded relative to at least one other layer of the multiple layers. By virtue of the expanded inner layer structure, the expanded multilayer integral geogrid provides for increased layer compressibility under load, resulting in enhanced material properties that provide performance benefits to use of the expanded multilayer integral geogrid in soil geosynthetic reinforcement, and economic benefits compared to a like integral geogrid without an expanded inner layer structure.

A method for manufacturing deicing acoustic skin for an aircraft acoustic panel, using a fiber spacing device. The manufacturing method includes at least one step for manufacturing a layer assembly having a deicing layer supplied with electrically conductive fibers embedded in a resin and two insulating layers arranged on either side of the deicing layer, and a baking step. The method provides for fitting, during baking, a spacing device on the layer assembly, the spacing device having pins passing through said layer assembly, perforations being produced at the locations of the pins after the withdrawal of the spacing device, the fitting of the spacing device making it possible to produce perforations with desired sizes and shapes, in a simple and effective manner, and with a reduced manufacturing duration.

A method of making a light weight component is provided. The method including the steps of: forming a metallic foam core into a desired configuration; applying an external metallic shell to an exterior surface of the metallic foam core after it has been formed into the desired configuration; and attenuating the component to a desired frequency by forming a plurality of openings in the external metallic shell.
