Panel for forming a floor covering and method for manufacturing such panels
A panel that includes at least a substrate of thermoplastic material and a top layer with a printed decor and a translucent or transparent wear layer. The substrate substantially consists of three layers, including a lowermost layer, a central layer and an uppermost layer, all made from thermoplastic material. Additionally, the thermoplastic material of the lower most layer and the uppermost layer is more rigid than the thermoplastic material of the central layer.
Method for making fire-resistant foam insulation panels
A continuous process for preparing insulation panels having thick (0.2 mm to 1 mm) metal facing panels and a fiber-reinforced polymer foam core is disclosed. In the process, a bottom metal facing panel is continuously supplied. A mat of reinforcing fibers and a foamable resin composition are applied to the bottom facing panel. A flexible barrier layer is applied atop the foamable resin composition, and the assembly is passed through nip rolls to compress the assembly and force the resin composition into the fiber mat. An adhesive layer and top metallic facing layer are then applied on top of the flexible barrier layer, and the resulting assembly is gauged and cured by passing it through a double band laminator.
METHOD TO TRANSPORT AND LAY DOWN DRY FIBER BUNDLES
A positive transport of carbon fiber bundles, in ribbon form, with in-line manipulation of the fiber bundles (spreading or spreading and volumization with manipulators) during fiber bundle transport to points of fiber bundle deliveries into the circular loom bed plate turntable is described herein. The automated placements of these deliveries of the fiber bundle/tow at selected orientations in the area correspond to the feeding zone of an improved circular loom bed plate turntable.
Wind turbine blade with hybrid spar cap and associated method for making
A wind turbine blade component is made by providing a plurality of first pultrusion plates formed of a first pultrusion fiber material, and a plurality of second pultrusion plates formed of a second pultrusion fiber material. The first and second pultrusion plates have a length corresponding to an entire length of a spar cap for a wind turbine blade shell. The first and second pultrusion plates are stacked in a hybrid pattern that contains both first and second pultrusion plates, and the stack is arranged on blade shell material in a mold for the blade shell. The stacked hybrid pattern of first and second pultrusion plates is bonded with the blade shell materials to form an integral blade shell and bonded spar cap component.
Method for manufacturing transparent composite material
A method for manufacturing a transparent composite material including preparing a film coated with a transparent resin, unidirectionally aligning glass fiber filaments and manufacturing a glass fiber plate by embedding the unidirectionally aligned glass fiber filaments in the transparent resin, wherein the transparent resin includes SiOSi bond and one of methyl, ethyl and phenyl.
Method For Producing A Composite Material Component
The invention relates to a method for producing a composite material component, comprising the following steps: providing a negative mold, fine machining of the negative mold, applying at least one functional layer by means of thermal spraying to the negative mold, applying at least one fiber-reinforced plastic layer with a curable matrix material, curing the matrix material, and detaching the composite material component from the negative mold.
Treatment device and treatment method
A technique for stable, high-speed treatment of reinforcement fiber. In a state where a unidirectional fiber bundle is held between a supporting surface of a support and a pressing surface of a resonator ultrasonically vibrating in a pressing direction perpendicular to the supporting surface, a pressed part of the unidirectional fiber bundle pressed by the pressing surface is moved in a longitudinal direction of the unidirectional fiber bundle. By doing so, the unidirectional fiber bundle can be stably treated at high speed when the unidirectional fiber bundle is opened or impregnated with a resin.
PIPE LINER AND METHOD OF MAKING AND INSTALLING THE SAME
An eversion liner for lining a pipe includes an impermeable outer portion, inner and outer strength portions inside the impermeable outer portion, and a middle portion including at least one felt layer radially between the inner and outer strength portions. At least one of the inner and outer strength portions is formed from a unitary sheet of strength material that includes parallel chopped strands of fiber. The longitudinal edge margins of the sheet of strength material are positioned in overlapping engagement and joined together by joining structure. The parallel chopped fibers can be oriented transverse to the length of the liner. The joining structure can prevent reduction in a width of the overlapped edge margins as the liner expands during eversion.
