Polymer foam insulation structure having a facing of a multi-layer sheet that contains a heat resistant polymer layer and a polylactide resin layer
Thermal insulation structures include a polymer foam layer adhered to a multi-layer sheet having a non-cellular layer of a heat-resistant thermoplastic and a second non-cellular layer of a polylactide resin. The polylactide resin is a surprisingly good barrier to the diffusion of atmospheric gases into the foam layer and of blowing agents out of the foam layer. Accordingly, the diffusion of atmospheric gases and blowing agents is retarded substantially. This greatly reduces the loss of thermal insulation capacity of the structure due to the replacement of the blowing agent with atmospheric gases. The multi-layer sheet exhibits excellent thermal stability, even when the polylactide in the polylactide layer is highly amorphous.
LAMINATED FILM AND BAG
An object is to provide a laminated film which contains a recycled resin, has a relatively excellent appearance, and has a relatively small damage property, and a bag containing the laminated film. The laminated film contains three or more resin layers including at least one inner layer and two surface layers. The at least one inner layer contains a recycled resin composition containing a recycled resin and an antioxidant, and the content of the antioxidant is 100 ppm by mass to 2000 ppm by mass with respect to the recycled resin composition. The two surface layers contain an unused resin.
Polymeric composites, resulting panels, and method for producing the same
A polymeric composite derived from a reclaimed polymeric material. The polymeric composite in particulate form can be thermally compressed into panels and other embodiments that require a component that possesses sufficient mechanical strength and moisture resistance. In certain embodiments, the panel may be utilized as one layer in a multilayered article.
NEEDLE-PUNCHED STRUCTURES CONTAINING RECYCLED FIBERS
Textiles are re-cycled by grinding and scatter-laying onto a needle-punched web optionally containing low-melting material, followed by laying a second needle-punched web over the scattered layer and re-needling the three layers before applying heat or heat and pressure to activate the low-melting ground material present within the layers. Additional low-melt ground material is optionally blended into the ground textile if low melt components are absent or insufficient to bond the composite. The ground material is driven and dispersed into the surrounding web layers with at least part of the material being adjacent the two outer surfaces. The physical properties of the composite can be adjusted by selecting suitable combinations including but not limited to needling stroke depth, needling density, needle gage, low-melt content, heat finishing conditions, and relative layer weights. The final composites can optionally be reintroduced into the original end use and include significant percentages of recycled material.
Recycled rubber backed cushioned vinyl
A laminated surface covering including a facing material made of vinyl and a backing material comprising a rubber component. The rubber component comprising at least a matrix of bonded rubber granules. A bonding material disposed between the facing material and the backing material. The facing material configured to melt at a temperature between 165 F. and 248 F. infiltrating the backing material thereby essentially encasing the rubber granules of the matrix and providing fire retardation and smoke suppression qualities.
RECYCLABLE SURFACE COVERING AND METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MANUFACTURING A RECYCLABLE SURFACE COVERING
A process and system for making a laminated surface covering and the surface covering itself are described. The covering includes several layers bonded to each other. The system performs the process. One example of the process includes passing a first material across a first conveyor, passing a second material across a second conveyor, passing a bonding material across a third conveyor, contacting the first material and the second material to the bonding material, and heating at least one of the first material and the second material. The process also includes introducing the first material, the second material, and the bonding material into a pressure zone such that the bonding material is introduced between a bottom surface of the first material and a top surface of the second material. The process applies pressure to bond the first material and second material together via the bonding material to produce a laminated material.
SYNTHETIC RUBBER TILE WITH THERMAL RESISTANCE MODULATION
A prefabricated tile-type coating, whose manufacture is based on the development of a polymeric composite including mainly recycled synthetic rubber obtained from the grinding of scrap automotive waste tires, virgin rubber, or a combination of both, using as a binder a novel cross-linkable acrylic resin with the ability to be processed by pultrusion. The upper layer of the tile is made of a resin with thermochromic effect that integrates an encapsulated pigment of thermochromic material with a transition temperature in the range of 20-35 C. which changes color from white under high-temperature conditions, i.e. C. or greater than dark in conditions of low temperature, that is, 20 C. or less. The tile of elastomeric character obtained has notable competitive advantages compared to other technologies in terms of thermal resistance, solar reflectance, and resistance to the impact caused by hail or other meteorological phenomena.
Polymer interlayers comprising a compatibilizer
A polymer composition comprising a first poly(vinyl butyral) resin having a first residual hydroxyl content; a second poly(vinyl butyral) resin having a second residual hydroxyl content; a plasticizer; and at least one compatibilizer, such as an anhydride compatibilizer; wherein the difference between the first and second residual hydroxyl contents is at least 2 wt. %, and wherein the polymer composition has a percent haze of less than 5%. The use of a compatibilizer reduces or minimizes the optical defects, such as haze and color, without sacrificing other characteristics of the composition. The composition may be used in an interlayer.
SOUND PROTECTION PANEL FOR CLADDING A WALL OF AN AUTOMOTIVE VEHICLE
The invention relates to a sound protection panel for cladding a wall of an automotive vehicle, the panel includes a mass-spring system. The panel has a lower spring layer based on a resiliently compressible material, an upper mass layer based on resiliently compressible foam flakes, the flakes being bound together by a two-component fibre-based bonding agent comprising a core. The core is fusible at a high temperature or infusible, and a sheath fusible at a lower temperature, the flakes being fused with the sheath to form an upper agglomerated layer.
