An article having recyclability properties including a combination of: (a) at least one polyolefin polymer; and (b) a waterborne adhesive composition having a recyclability property, wherein the recyclability property of the waterborne adhesive composition is such that when the article with the waterborne adhesive composition is reprocessed, the article with the waterborne adhesive composition exhibits less than a 40% decreased change in performance compared to a control article without the waterborne adhesive composition that is reprocessed the same way as the article with the waterborne adhesive composition; a recyclable laminate structure including (a) at least one first polymer film layer; and () at least one layer of the above waterborne laminating adhesive composition; and a process for manufacturing the above recyclable laminate structure.
COMPOSITIONS USEFUL IN PREPARING RECYCLABLE POLYCARBONATE SHEETING HAVING A MATTE APPEARANCE
A composition comprising one or more polymers consisting of polycarbonate or a copolymer of greater than 50 mole percent of polycarbonate units and less than 50 mole percent of monomer units which copolymerize with polycarbonate units; 5 to 20 percent by weight of one or more minerals containing high aspect ratio CaSiO.sub.3, optionally a buffering agent for basic materials and optionally one or more antioxidants useful with polycarbonate containing compositions. Also disclosed are sheets containing one or more layers of this composition. The sheets exhibit matte surface appearance and are easily recyclable.
MULTILAYER TUBE, PARTICULARLY FOR FLUIDS
A multilayer tube, particularly for fluids, includes a sheath made of fluorinated polymers which is located in an innermost layer, which is adapted to be in contact with a circulating fluid, and is constituted by coupling a first, nonconducting material to a second, black-pigmented material that is electrically at least antistatic in the form of one or more continuous strips. The sheath has a smooth internal surface and is reinforced with external layers that are predominantly made of rubber.
METHOD OF PREPARING ELASTOMER MEMBRANE WITH HIGH WATER PRESSURE RESISTANCE
A method of preparing an elastomer membrane with high water pressure resistance includes the following steps: preparing a dry material by subjecting first thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) powder/particles to a drying treatment; preparing a first mixture by mixing the dry material thoroughly with one or a mixture of at least two of diethylenetriamine, diethylaminopropylamine, and diaminodiphenylmethane; preparing a second mixture by mixing an initiator thoroughly with the first mixture; preparing a first membrane layer from the second mixture; and preparing a second membrane layer and a third membrane layer through the above steps such that the second membrane layer and the third membrane layer are sequentially formed on the first membrane layer.
POLYARYLATE RESIN, FILM FORMED FROM SAME AND LAMINATE
The present invention provides a polyarylate resin which is excellent in heat-resisting properties, abrasion-resisting properties, solubility properties in non-halogenated organic solvents, a water vapor-barrier property, mechanical properties, liquid sag-resisting properties and deformation-resisting properties (such as adhesive properties). The present invention relates to a polyarylate resin comprising a dihydric phenol residue shown in general formula (1) and an aromatic dicarboxylic acid residue shown in general formula (2), a film comprising the same and a laminated product thereof:
##STR00001##
(wherein X represents a liner or branched bivalent hydrocarbon group having 4 to 8 carbon atoms.)
##STR00002##
(wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 respectively and independently represent a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, which may be substituted by one or more halogen atoms, or a halogen atom, and p and q respectively and independently represent an integer of 0 to 4.).
Method of forming multilayer coating film made from natural material
Disclosed are a multilayer coating film made from a natural material and a method of producing the same. The multilayer coating film may be produced by forming a multilayer coating film through formation of a color coating film for providing adhesion and color to a cork on the cork material and a clear coating film for realizing texture and supplementing properties on the color coating film. As such, the multilayer coating film may be made from a natural material to diversify the color and gloss of cork as a natural material, to additionally increase marketability of an interior material and provide various appearance, to prevent discoloration due to light (e.g. UV light.) and water permeation, and to enhance durability against abrasion, scratches and the like.
OUTSOLE AND SHOE
Provided in the present disclosure is an outsole including a sheet body which includes a substrate sheet and an injection molded article fixed to the substrate sheet, and a shoe that has the injection molded article having a certain melt viscosity and thereby being excellent in grip performance and long-term durability.
Surface conforming activatable adhesive bodies and methods of making same
A method for making an activatable material having a handling film layer thereon, comprising the steps of providing a continuous mass of a polymeric material having a longitudinal axis and being capable of adhering to a metal surface; applying a handling layer (e.g., film) over at least one side of the mass; forming stress relief indentations in the mass, with the handling layer at least partially extending into the indentations, wherein the stress relief indentations allow a resulting part to be applied in conforming geometry with a surface to which it is applied. The teachings also contemplate parts made by the above method and use thereof to bond to surfaces having a non-planar portion.
Multi-layered structure and articles formed therefrom having improved splash resistance by increased interlayer spacing
A splash resistant multi-layered structure is provided. The structure includes a specific arrangement of layers of material and a plurality of three-dimensional spacers that helps prevent penetration through the structure by a fluid that contacts an outer surface of the structure due to a state of forced separation that exists between two adjacent layers of the structure due to the presence of the plurality of three-dimensional spacers positioned between the layers. The plurality of three-dimensional spacers can be positioned on one of the adjacent layers of the structure such that a distance at least as large as the maximum height of the plurality of three-dimensional spacers separates the two layers from each other and can be present on a layer of material in a continuous or discontinuous pattern or can be present on a layer of material in a random fashion. The presence of the three-dimensional spacers can reduce the basis weight or eliminate one or more layers of the structure, which, in turn, can reduce thermal resistance, lower the pressure drop across the layers of the structure, and reduce the overall weight of the structure to enhance breathability and comfort.
