Disclosed are various embodiments for a universal sink stopper and strainer. Various embodiments can include a handle, a first plate, a gasket, a second plate, and a fastener. The first plate can include a first plurality of holes. The gasket can include a second plurality of holes in alignment with the first plurality of holes. The second plate can include a third plurality of holes in alignment with the first and the second plurality of holes. The fastener can extend through the second plate, the gasket, and the first plate to engage the handle.

Disclosed is a sink plug. The sink plug comprises an integrally formed bottom part (10) having a floor (20) and side walls (30). The sink plug further comprises a knob (40) with magnetic properties, disposed on the center of the circular floor and a cover (70) adapted to be disposed on the knob. The cover comprises a magnet (50) disposed in the center of the cover (70), wherein in an operating position, the magnet (50) magnetically engages with the knob (40).

The plate may include a downwardly extending lip to help facilitate orientation onto the flange of the wastewater strainer. The plate conceals the wastewater strainer, thereby facilitating reconfiguration of a bathtub as the existing wastewater strainer need not be removed and the plumbing system retested.
