Multilayered nonwoven fabric containing submicron fibers, a method of manufacture, an apparatus, and articles made from multilayered nonwoven fabrics
12098488 · 2024-09-24 ·

This document presents a novel method of manufacturing multilayered nonwoven fabrics consisting of submicron fibers, hydroentangled, meltfibrillated, and/or spunlaid web layers. The composite multilayered webs contain one or more submicron fiber webs placed between inner and outer layers of hydroentangled, meltfibrillated, and/or spunlaid web, forming a fabric that may be utilized in the manufacture of articles which serve as barriers, wipes or sorbent materials, or may have other potential applications. The created novel composite multilayered fabric may have increased loft, softness and bending length, may not be solely dependent upon an electrostatic charge to repel small particles and microbes, and may be formed from a broad selection of natural, synthetic, and recycled polymers, including petroleum- and plant-based, allowing polymer selection based on article lifecycle.

Aircraft interior panels and methods of panel fabrication

A multifunctional fully integral panel system design, a unique material configuration, and a process for fabricating a net shape (or nearly net shape) panel in one production cycle. The panel may comprise a base facing with an outer perimeter, a decorative film applied to the exterior of the base facing, an aft facing having an outer perimeter fused to the base facing, and a reinforcement core disposed between the unfused portions of the base and aft facings, which reinforcement core also acts as acoustic insulation (i.e., a noise attenuator). Alternatively or additionally, a foam core or blanket having thermal and/or acoustic insulation properties is attached to the external surface of the aft facing. The fabrication process involves the application of different heat treatments to panel components having different forming temperature or rubbery/elastic plateaus.

Multi-layered impermeable fabric for use in pocketed spring assembly
10076193 · 2018-09-18 · ·

A pocketed spring assembly comprises a plurality of parallel strings of individually pocketed springs. Each string is joined to at least one adjacent string. Each string has first and second opposed plies of fabric and a plurality of pockets formed along a length of the string by transverse segmented seams joining the plies. Gaps between the segments of the seams allow air to pass into and out of the pockets despite the fabric being impermeable to airflow through the fabric. The size of the gaps determines the firmness or feel of the pocketed spring assembly or portion thereof.

Method and apparatus for producing a granular powder-containing sheet

Provided is a method for producing a granular powder-containing sheet containing a granular powder in separated container rooms between two sheet materials. After the container rooms are formed in a first sheet material, the first sheet material is transported on the circumferential surface of an anvil roller. In the process of transportation, the granular powder that is fed from a granular powder feeding hopper through a feeding passage is received in the container rooms. Thereafter, the container rooms are covered with a second sheet material, and the two sheet materials are joined to each other on the peripheries of the container rooms.

ELASTIC LAMINATES, METHOD OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF AND ARTICLES COMPRISING THE SAME

Disclosed herein is a multilayer laminate comprising a film comprising an ethylene-based elastomer; a first non-woven layer in contact with a first surface of the film; and a second non-woven layer in contact with a second surface of the film; wherein the second surface of the film is opposedly disposed to the first surface of the film; wherein at least one of the first non-woven layer or the second non-woven layer comprises a non-woven web; and wherein the non-woven web is formed from a bicomponent fiber having a first component comprising an polyethylene-based polymer and a second component comprising a polymer having a melting point that is higher than the polyethylene-based polymer, wherein at least a portion of a surface of the bicomponent fiber comprises the first component.

A method of adhering first and second elongate webs includes depositing a first component of a two-component adhesive on a first face of the first elongate web and depositing a second component of the two-component adhesive on a first face of the second elongate web. The first face of the first elongate web and the first face of second elongate web are brought into contact, and the two components are mixed ultrasonically. In an alternate method, a two-component adhesive on at least a first face of the first elongate web, with at least one of the two components micro-encapsulated so that the two components of the two-component adhesive do not react. The first face of the first elongate web and the first face of the second elongate web are brought into contact. Ultrasound and/or heat is applied to free the microencapsulated components of the two-component adhesive, so that the components of the two component adhesive can react.

A manufacturing apparatus (10) for manufacturing a semiconductor device includes: a wafer holding device (12), a PU device (14) having a PU head (40) that holds a target chip (100) in a non-contact manner, an energy irradiation device (16) irradiating energy to the target chip (100) from a back surface side of a dicing tape (130) to reduce an adhesive force of the dicing tape (130), and a controller (22). An adhesive layer of the dicing tape (130) is a self-peeling adhesive layer having an adhesive force that decreases with irradiation of the energy and floats the target chip (100) by a small distance. The controller (22) controls a position of the PU head (40) so that the target chip (100) and the PU head (40) do not come into contact with each other even if the target chip (100) floats during a takeoff preparation period.

A continuous process for making a multi-panel sterilization assembly, the process including the steps of: providing a moving, continuous base web; providing a plurality of subassemblies; applying the subassemblies in position on the moving, continuous base web to define repeating portions that incorporate the subassemblies and alternating portions that lack such subassemblies; providing side tabs; applying the side tabs in position on the moving, continuous base web with respect to at least one edge of the portions that incorporate the subassemblies; attaching the subassemblies and the side tabs to the moving, continuous base web to form a continuous work-piece; and separating the continuous work-piece into individual multi-panel sterilization assemblies, each multi-panel sterilization assembly comprising a barrier panel, a fold protection panel and at least one side tab.

Apparatus and method for producing a gathered or gatherable material

The present invention relates to an apparatus for producing a gathered material, wherein the material consists of two material web portions and a thread positioned between the material web portions and the two material web portions are connected to one another at two connecting surfaces, wherein the thread is disposed between the two connecting surfaces such that the thread is connected to the material web portions, wherein the apparatus comprises a sonotrode having a first sealing surface and a counter tool having a second sealing surface, wherein the counter tool is cylindrical with a lateral surface and a cylinder axis and the second sealing surface is disposed on the lateral surface, wherein the sonotrode and the counter tool are disposed with respect to one another in a processing position such that the material web portions and the thread can be guided through a gap formed by the first and the second sealing surface in a feed direction tangential to the lateral surface of the counter tool. To overcome or at least mitigate the described drawbacks, it is proposed according to the invention that the sonotrode comprise a groove which is oriented in feed direction and extends over the entire first sealing surface for receiving the thread.
