Packaging material for packaging of light-sensitive goods and method for producing said packaging material
A packaging material for packaging of light-sensitive goods, said packaging material comprising a first layer and a second layer, at least one hole penetrating said first layer and being covered by said second layer, and a light barrier, wherein said light barrier comprises a layer of ink being essentially nontransparent to light and provided on said second layer to at least partly cover said hole. The disclosure further relates to a method for providing a light barrier covering a hole in a packaging material as well as to a package for packaging of light-sensitive goods.
Three-dimensional multi-reinforced composites and methods of manufacture and use thereof
Composite materials are provided which may include one or more sheets of carbon fibers woven in orthogonal direction bundles; carbon nanotubes embedded within pores between the bundles; and a matrix material in which the one or more sheets and the carbon nanotubes are embedded. In one case, the carbon fibers lie substantially in an x-direction and a y-direction and the carbon nanotubes are oriented substantially in a z-direction, which is substantially perpendicular to the x- and y-directions. Methods for making the composite materials are also provided.
MEMBRANES WITH TUNABLE SELECTIVITY
Some embodiments comprise membranes comprising a first layer comprising a porous graphene-based material; a second layer comprising a porous graphene-based material; a channel positioned between the first layer and the second layer, wherein the channel has a tunable channel diameter; and at least one spacer substance positioned in the channel, wherein the spacer substance is responsive to the environmental stimulus. In some cases, the membranes have more than two layers of porous graphene-based material. Permeability of a membrane can be altered by exposing the membrane to an environmental stimulus. Membranes can be used in methods of water filtration, immune-isolation, timed drug release (e.g., sustained or delayed release), hemodialysis, or hemofiltration.
Roll-to-roll transfer method of graphene, graphene roll produced by the method, and roll-to-roll transfer equipment for graphene
The present disclosure relates to a graphene roll-to-roll transfer method, a graphene roll-to-roll transfer apparatus, a graphene roll manufactured by the graphene roll-to-roll transfer method, and uses thereof.
Composite wood flooring and method of making the same
A method of making a composite panel configured for use with a flooring assembly of a trailer includes providing a wood substrate, making an uncured fiber-reinforced coating, and applying the uncured fiber-reinforced coating onto a surface of the wood substrate. The method further includes curing the uncured fiber-reinforced coating after applying the uncured fiber-reinforced coating onto the surface of the wood substrate.
APPARATUS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A thin film manipulator comprising: a porous thin film manipulator interface with a chamber surface and an opposing thin film surface, the porous thin film manipulator interface having a through-thickness porosity to allow a fluid to be used to develop a pressure difference between the chamber surface and the opposing thin film surface; and a plurality of chambers positioned laterally across the chamber surface of the porous thin film manipulator interface, the plurality of chambers configured to allow: progressive removal of fluid laterally across the interface to provide a lateral pressure gradient which progressively decreases the pressure laterally across the thin film surface to progressively hold a thin film at the thin film surface and/or progressive application of fluid laterally across the interface to provide a lateral pressure gradient which progressively increases the pressure laterally across the thin film surface to progressively release an adhered thin film from the thin film surface.
Heat transfer device and method of making the same
A heat transfer device includes a first and second substrate, and a heat transfer layer. The first substrate includes a first plate and a first adhesive layer that is formed on the first plate. The second substrate includes a second plate and a second adhesive layer that is formed on the second plate. The heat transfer layer is sandwiched between the first adhesive and second adhesive layers, and includes a plurality of carbon flakes that is made from one of graphene or graphite. The carbon flakes lies on the first adhesive layer with partial overlap of the carbon flakes.
HYDROPHOBIC FILM
A hydrophobic film is provided. The hydrophobic film includes a flexible substrate; a hydrophobic layer located on the flexible substrate, a heating layer, a first electrode and a second electrode spaced apart from the first electrode. The hydrophobic layer comprises a base and a patterned bulge layer on a surface of the base away from the flexible substrate. The heating layer is on a surface of the flexible substrate away from the hydrophobic layer. The first electrode and the second electrode are electrically connected to and in direct contact with the heating layer.
Composite Foam Article
A composite foam article is disclosed herein. The composite foam article comprises a polyurethane foam core presenting a first surface and a second surface facing opposite the first surface. A first skin is disposed on the first surface and a second skin is disposed on the second surface. The polyurethane foam core has a density of 15-80 kg/m.sup.3. The first and second skins comprise a plurality of fibers and a polymeric binder. The composite foam article has a weight per unit area of 500-1000 g/m.sup.2 and a strength of greater than 17 N at a post-compression thickness of greater than 2 mm when tested in according with SAE J949 at 23° C.
