Plasterboards and methods for making them
An example plasterboard includes a layer of hardened plaster material having a first surface and an opposed second surface and a layer of molded material having a surface that faces away from the layer of hardened plaster material. The surface of the layer of molded material has one or more raised features. The plasterboard also includes a liner between the first surface of the layer of hardened plaster material and the layer of molded material. Other examples include a method of forming such plasterboards and a method for installing such plasterboards.
Building board having high fastener sealability
A building board, particularly a gypsum board, can have a high fastener sealability if protected by the combination of thin layers of an extruded polymer film and a thermoplastic coating layer. The combination of extruded polymer film and thermoplastic coating layer is designed such that the gypsum board can also tolerate overdriven fasteners, thus exceeding the requirements of ASTM D1970-15.
FLOUR BINDER FOR GYPSUM BOARD, AND RELATED METHODS, PRODUCT, AND SLURRIES
Disclosed is an acid-modified flour and a method of making the acid-modified flour. The acid-modified flour is desirably prepared using a dry milling process. A starting flour is combined with a strong acid to form a mixture. The mixture is heated. A neutralizer is added to increase the pH of the mixture. If desired, the mixture can be dried and any agglomerates can be removed. The acid-modified flour can be used as a binder in a slurry for preparing one or more gypsum layers in a gypsum board.
Gypsum Panel Containing a Fluted Layer
In the present disclosure, a gypsum panel is disclosed. The gypsum panel comprises a gypsum core having a first gypsum layer surface and a second gypsum layer surface opposite the first gypsum layer surface and a fluted layer having a first fluted layer surface and a second fluted layer surface opposite the first fluted layer surface wherein the first fluted layer surface facing the first gypsum layer surface. The present disclosure is also directed to a method of forming the aforementioned gypsum panel.
METHOD OF PREPARING GYPSUM WALLBOARD FROM HIGH SALT GYPSUM, AND RELATED PRODUCT
Disclosed are a composite gypsum board and a method of preparing composite gypsum board. The board contains set gypsum layers sandwiched between two cover sheets. The set gypsum layers are formed from at least stucco and water. The set gypsum layers include a board core and one or more skim coat layers. The set gypsum core makes up a substantial thickness (e.g., at least about 90%, at least about 92%, at least about 95%, or at least about 97%) of the total thickness of all the gypsum layers. A first skim coat layer is included on one side of the core, facing a first (face) cover sheet. A second skim coat layer is included on the other side of the core, facing a second (back) cover sheet. At least the second skim layer is formed from a slurry that contains starch. The stucco material generally includes a high salt impurity content, for example, when the stucco is calcined from certain sources of low-quality synthetic gypsum. For example, in some embodiments, the salts are chloride salts, e.g., sodium chloride (NaCl), potassium chloride (KCl), magnesium chloride (MgCl.sub.2), and/or calcium chloride (CaCl.sub.2).
Building board and method of forming the building board
A building board including a cementitious layer between two fiber mats. At least one fiber mat forms with a polymer film a fiber mat/polymer film laminate. The cementitious layer of the building board contains a reactive water-insoluble polymer which improves binding of the fiber mat/polymer film laminate to the cementitious layer. The building board has a low water absorption and a high level surface finish.
TOOL CABINET
A tool cabinet includes a main body, a shielding unit, and first and second fire resistance subunits. The main body defines a first receiving space and at least one second receiving space. The first fire resistance subunit is made of a fire-resistant material, and is disposed in the first receiving space. The second fire resistance subunit is mounted co-movably to a front door of the shielding unit, and has a front fire resistance layer made of a fire-resistant material. The front fire resistance layer and the first fire resistance subunit form a hollow shell structure when the front door is at a close position. An internal space of the hollow shell structure is isolated from the second receiving space.
System and method for the production of gypsum board using starch pellets
The present invention relates to a system and method for the production of gypsum board using starch pellets. In accordance with the present disclosure, the starch necessary for board formation is provided in the form of starch pellets. These pellets are mixed with a gypsum slurry in a mixer. The pellets are initially insoluble and do not dissolve. However, during subsequent drying stages, the pellets become soluble and dissolve into the gypsum phase. This both provides the desired starch component and also results in the formation of voids within the set gypsum.

SOUND DAMPING WALLBOARD AND METHOD OF FORMING A SOUND DAMPING WALLBOARD
A sound damping wallboard and methods of forming a sound damping wallboard are disclosed. The sound damping wallboard comprises a gypsum layer with a gypsum surface having an encasing layer. The encasing layer is partially removed to expose the gypsum surface and form a gypsum surface portion and a first encasing layer portion on the gypsum layer. A sound damping layer is applied to the gypsum layer to cover at least part of the gypsum surface portion and the encasing layer portion.
