The present disclosure relates generally to flexible product packaging and, in particular, to flexible packaging structures for products such as food products stored and transported for later reheating or cooking. In one aspect, an ovenable flexible packaging structure includes a paper layer having a first major surface and a second major surface opposite the first major surface, the paper layer having a cutout defining a window. A printed ink layer is disposed on the first major surface of the paper layer and a varnish layer is disposed over the printed ink layer. A heat sealable polyester layer is disposed on the second major surface of the paper layer, the heat sealable polyester layer having a strip of perforations formed therein. The strip of perforations and the cutout are at least partially overlapping with each other. An adhesive layer intermediate the paper layer and the heat sealable polymer layer includes an adhesive for adhesively bonding the paper layer to the heat sealable polymer layer. In further aspects, packaging articles formed of the flexible packaging structures and methods for making the flexible packaging structures and packaging articles are provided.

COMPOSITE PANELS WITH ADHESIVE AND SEPARATE FRAGMENT LAYERS

A panel including a first layer including fragments from a first blend of paper fragments of a first size and plastic fragments of a second size, a second layer including fragments from a second blend of paper fragments of a third size and plastic fragments of a fourth size, the third size being different from the first size, and the fourth size being different from the second size, and a third layer comprising fragments from the first blend. The second layer is disposed between the first layer and the third layer.

Veneered element and method of producing such a veneered element

A method for the generation of a gas mixture comprising carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and optionally hydrogen for use in hydroformylation plants or in carbonylation plants, including mixing an optional steam with carbon dioxide in the desired molar ratio, feeding the resulting gas to a solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) or an SOEC stack at a sufficient temperature for the cell or cell stack to operate while effecting a partial conversion of carbon dioxide to carbon monoxide and optionally of steam to hydrogen, removing some or all the remaining steam from the raw product gas stream by cooling the raw product gas stream and separating the remaining product gas from a liquid, and using said gas mixture containing CO and CO.sub.2 for liquid phase synthesis reactions utilizing carbon monoxide as one of the reactants while recycling CO.sub.2 to the SOEC or SOEC stack.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF A TWO-PLY PAPERBOARD PANEL
20240042726 · 2024-02-08 ·

An apparatus for production of a two-ply paperboard panel is provided. The apparatus comprises a supply of top paperboard panel web. A flap-cutting die cut module receives the top paperboard panel web and cuts a pattern of flaps therein. A flap-forming die roll in juxtaposition with a flap-receiving pocket roll defines an interface therebetween through which the top paperboard panel web is received. An adhesive-application station applies adhesive to surfaces of flaps formed on the top paperboard panel web. A supply of bottom paperboard panel web is provided, which is joined to the top paperboard panel web at a web-merging station. A hold-down system holds the top and bottom paperboard panel webs together while applied adhesive sets or cures. A method for producing a two-ply paperboard panel is also disclosed.

WATER-RESISTANT ROOF COVERBOARD PANELS

A coverboard panel may include a first facer layer including a non-porous synthetic polymer, a core layer, and a second facer layer, wherein the core layer is disposed between the first facer layer and the second facer layer, and wherein the coverboard panel is configured to be installed with the first facer layer bonded to a membrane.

Waterborne adhesives for reduced basis weight multilayer substrates and use thereof

The adhesive composition comprising emulsion polymers and microspheres and articles made therefrom are provided. The adhesive is particularly suitable for packages for consumer products that provide sufficient strength and thermal insulation while reducing the overall basis weight of the substrates.

MULTIWALL PAPER-BASED PACKAGING STRUCTURES

A paper-based packaging article includes outer and intermediate paper plies and an inner polymer film ply. A first adhesive layer is disposed between the inner and intermediate paper plies for gluing the inner polymer film ply to the intermediate paper ply. A second adhesive layer is disposed between the intermediate and outer paper plies for gluing the intermediate paper ply to the outer paper ply. The first and second adhesive layers overlap and are coaligned. The outer and intermediate paper plies and the inner polymer film ply are adjoined to form a multiwall structure, wherein the first adhesive layer and the second adhesive layer are coaligned with each other on the multiwall structure.
