BONDED VENEER WITH SIMULATED WOOD GRAIN AND TEXTURE, BONDED VENEER PANELS AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
20170246843 · 2017-08-31 · ·

A simulated wood veneer product is disclosed. The simulated wood veneer product includes a paper substrate and an imprintable wood fiber material applied to one side of the paper substrate. The imprintable wood fiber material provides the paper substrate with depth and allows the paper to receive and retain an imprinted wood grain texture. Once imprinted, the veneer product is printed with a simulated wood grain pattern to create a realistic simulated veneer product which is referred to herein as a “bonded veneer”. The bonded veneer product can then be adhered to a structural or composite wood panel, such as an MDF panel, to create a simulated wood veneer panel which can be used in the construction of furniture products.

Extrusion-coated structural members having extruded profile members

The present disclosure relates to extrusion-coated structural systems including at least one extruded profile member coupled to and extending outwardly from an extrusion-coated structural member, as well as methods of making and using the same. Structural systems of the present invention that include at least one extruded profile member may exhibit enhanced flexibility, functionality, and/or durability. Structural systems according to embodiments of the present invention can be suitable for use in a variety of applications, including in ready-to-assemble furniture or cabinetry applications or as building and construction materials such as wall board, flooring, trim, and the like.

Composite wood flooring and method of making the same

A method of making a composite panel configured for use with a flooring assembly of a trailer includes providing a wood substrate, making an uncured fiber-reinforced coating, and applying the uncured fiber-reinforced coating onto a surface of the wood substrate. The method further includes curing the uncured fiber-reinforced coating after applying the uncured fiber-reinforced coating onto the surface of the wood substrate.

Platen reinforcing tension directed pressure materials mobile multi manufacturing press

The present invention relates to a novel device to manufacture polyurethane foam boards used in structurally insulated panel known as insulated building material press. The press enables the application of pressure across a large area while foaming and curing polyurethane under pressure, curing glue or otherwise bonding materials into a finished product or to form multiple panels in a single press at the same time. The building material press can be used to manufacture multiple structurally insulated panels simultaneously. The press is mobile and can be transported by means of a vehicle to a remote location.

Composite cores and panels

The plurality of pieces of low density cellular material, such as foam plastics, form a core panel having opposite side surfaces and with adjacent pieces having opposing edge surfaces extending between the side surfaces. Sheets of flexible material, such as veils or mats or scrim, are adhesively attached to the side surfaces, and portions of one sheet extend between the opposing adjacent edge surfaces for limiting flexing of the panel. The pieces may be tapered, and portions of the one sheet may project between the edge surfaces either partially or fully to form double wall webs. The webs may have flanges adhesively attached to the other sheet on the opposite side. One sheet may also be stretchable in areas not adhesively attached to the pieces to provide for curving the panel from a planar position maintained by the sheet on the opposite side.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A STRUCTURAL PANEL FOR AN ENGINEERING STRUCTURE
20170225428 · 2017-08-10 ·

A method of manufacturing at least one structural panel (20) for an engineering structure comprises conveying a layered structure (40) through a roller assembly comprising at least one pair of heating rollers (50) and at least one pair of cooling rollers (52), where the cooling rollers are at a lower temperature than the heating rollers. The layer structure comprises a thermoplastic foam layer 24 and at least one skin layer (22). The heating rollers 0 heat the skin layer (22) to melt at least part of the foam layer (24) adjacent to the skin layer (22) and bond the foam layer (24) to the skin (22). The cooling rollers (52) cool the layered structure (40) so that the thermoplastic resolidifies, retaining its bond with the skin to form the bonded panel (20). This approach greatly reduces manufacturing costs for structural panels.

The invention relates to a non-flammable panel with real wood veneer and a method for manufacturing such a panel. The non-flammable panel is characterized by a non-flammable carrier board and a thin real wood veneer which was laminated onto the carrier board by means of a mineral glue.

METHOD OF PRODUCING THREE-DIMENSIONAL STRUCTURAL SURFACES
20170217248 · 2017-08-03 ·

The invention relates to a method of producing three-dimensional structural surfaces based on synthetic resin-impregnated materials applied to the surface, in particular of wood-based panels. The method is characterized in that before the impregnation, at the stage of pattern printing, a mixture is applied to the decor paper, consisting of printing ink, whether with pigment or not, and a swelling agent in the form of microspheres, being encapsulated gas bubbles of sizes ranging from 2 pm to 180 pm, increasing its volume under the influence of rising temperature, wherein the mixture of the ink and the swelling agent contains from 0.3% to 45% by weight of the swelling agent, and after exiting the printing press and after the impregnation, the decor paper with the formed final pattern with a coded three-dimensional structure is pressed onto the surface, in particular of a wood-based panel, using a heated press plate with any working surface.

NOVEL LAYERED MATERIALS AND THEIR USE

A layered material includes a first carrier material and a second carrier material. The first carrier material is coated or saturated with a modified bitumen. The modified bitumen is a bitumen to which is added an agent selected from a wax, a silicone oil, stearic acid, alkene ketene dimer (AKD), alkenyl succinic anhydride (ASA), and mixtures thereof. The first carrier material is continuously attached to the second carrier material.

COMPOSITE WOOD PANELS WITH CORRUGATED CORES AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
20170266839 · 2017-09-21 · ·

A composite wood panel is manufactured from thin wood laminae cut from wood unsuitable for peeler logs or dimensional lumber. A cold set adhesive is applied to the wood laminae and they are formed into a randomly oriented mat that is cold rolled into a thin, pliable cold rolled stock that can be corrugated. A hot set adhesive may also be applied to the laminae to improve strength of the composite wood panel. The hot set adhesive is set in a hot press after the cold rolled stock is produced.
