A fire spread prevention material 10 having a multilayer configuration, including at least a layer A containing an inorganic fiber base material and sodium silicate impregnated into the inorganic fiber base material and a layer B containing an inorganic fiber and having a porous structure, in which the inorganic fiber base material includes an inorganic fiber and an organic binder, a content of the organic binder is 5 to 20 mass % based on a total mass of the inorganic fiber base material, and a SiO.sub.2/Na.sub.2O mole ratio of the sodium silicate is less than 3.1.
METHOD FOR ATTACHING INSULATION PANELS
A method for connecting insulation panels, each of the panels comprising a cellulosic web having two sides and an outside edge, and comprising layers of cellulosic fibers, the method comprising: arranging a portion of each panel to be adjacent to the other, thereby forming an edge portion where the two webs can be connected; relaxing the fibers of cellulosic material in the edge portion of each insulation panel by applying heat to the edge portion at a temperature of 150? F. to 450? F., thereby forming a relaxed fiber edge portion;
compressing the relaxed fiber edge portion of each insulation panel at a pressure of at least 5 psig, thereby forming a compressed panel portion having a thickness and a density; and
fastening the compressed panel portions together using sewing, riveting, adhesive, tape, interlacing, stamping, ply bonding or stapling thereby forming a fastened area, wherein step (c) can be conducted at the same time or following step (b).
Cellulose film pressure sensitive adhesive substrates for high temperature printing
A method of printing a single ply transparent or pigmented cellulose film having a top surface and a bottom surface in a high temperature printer: said method including: (a) coating the bottom surface of the single ply transparent or pigmented cellulose film with a layer pressure sensitive adhesive and coating said top surface of said cellulose adhesive with a functional top coating while controlling the moisture content of the cellulose film at between 4.5 and 6.5 wt % water, based on the weight of the cellulose layer; (b) laminating a lay flat liner onto the layer of pressure sensitive adhesive to form a laminated single ply transparent or pigmented cellulose film; and (c) passing the laminated single ply transparent or pigmented cellulose film through a laser printer to affix printed indicia to the laminated single ply transparent or pigmented cellulose film.
BIO-DEGRADABLE POLYMERIC SHEET
A biodegradable polymeric sheet may be configured to undergo biodegradation on the ground responsive to an exposure to free air and natural day light. The biodegradable polymeric sheet may include a first layer comprising polysaccharide at a weight % of between 15% to 50% and a polyester matrix, the first layer is configured to form a water barrier when in contact with water; a second layer comprising a polysaccharide at a weight % of at least 40% and a polyester matrix; and a third layer comprising polysaccharide at a weight % of between 15% to 50%, a polyester matrix and an additive configured to accelerate disintegration of the polymeric sheet when exposed to natural day light, the third layer is configured to form a water barrier when in contact with water.
FIBER CEMENT ARTICLES WITH ULTRA-SMOOTH EXTERIOR SURFACE AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
Described herein are cementitious articles having an integrally formed exterior surface with ultra-smooth finish and reduced porosity and/or thickness relative to the core of the cementitious article. Described herein are also techniques and methods for producing fiber cement articles having a thin exterior shell characterized by improved smoothness and reduced porosity.
FIRE RESISTANT BUILDING PANELS
A fire resistant building panel comprising: a first major face; a second major face; and a fire resistant body comprising a binder, at least one additive, and at least one fiber material, wherein the binder comprises a calcareous material and a siliceous material; and wherein the fire resistant body is disposed between the first major face and the second major face. The fire resistant body provides a fire rating of at least 45 minutes as tested in accordance with Australian Standard AS1530.4-2005.
Method and system for delivering biodegradable shelled portions
A method of delivering over the air, shelled portions of fluids or granular substances containing effective ingredients, to a target, includes the following stages: selecting a type and a size of the shelled portions containing the required effective ingredients, based on mission parameters and physical data of a scene containing the target; conveying the shelled portions to a delivery point, based on the mission parameters and the physical data; and ballistically delivering the shelled portions towards the target, wherein the shelled portions comprise fluids or granular substances covered by shells that provide the shelled portions a ballistic coefficient that is significantly higher than a ballistic coefficient of similar portions without the shells.
Load ramp for a vehicle
A load ramp for a vehicle includes a corrugated layer that has a first surface and a second surface. A first layer is positioned adjacent to the first surface of the corrugated layer. A second layer is positioned adjacent to the second surface of the corrugated layer such that the corrugated layer is positioned between the first and second layers. A thickness of the load ramp can be in the range of about 10 mm to about 30 mm. A load capacity of the load ramp can be at least about 100 kg. A method of manufacturing the load ramp is also disclosed.
Photochromic polyurethane laminate
A photochromic polyurethane laminate that is constructed to solve certain manufacturing difficulties involved in the production of plastic photochromic lenses is disclosed. The photochromic laminate includes at least two layers of a resinous material and a photochromic polyurethane layer that is interspersed between the two resinous layers and which contains photochromic compounds. The polyurethane layer is formed by curing a mixture of a solid thermoplastic polyurethane, at least one isocyanate prepolymer, at least one photochromic compound, and a stabilizing system.
Glyoxal adhesive system and process for manufacturing the same
An optical adhesive product and a process for manufacturing an optical adhesive product, laminated film ensembles, and laminated lenses. The optical adhesive product includes a glyoxal water solution that is pH adjusted for use as an optical adhesive that demonstrates a wet peel force strength above about 6 Newtons. A water based polymer, such as PVOH, may be added to the adhesive system. According to the process, the glyoxal adhesive system is manufactured and utilized to laminate TAC-PVA-TAC films together to form a polar film ensemble. The polar film ensemble is laminated to an optical substrate and in the case of an ophthalmic lens, surfaced, coated and edged. The optical adhesive product avoids film separation in the polar TAC-PAV-TAC film ensemble during edging.
