Method for producing porous articles from alternating poly(ethylene tetrafluoroethylene) and articles produced therefrom
Poly(ethylene tetrafluoroethylene) (ETFE) polymers having an average molecular weight of at least 300,000 g/mol and a melt enthalpy of at least 57 J/g are provided. The ETFE polymer may include at least one additional comonomer. The ETFE polymer is used to form a porous tape or membrane that has a node and fibril structure. A porous ETFE tape may be formed by lubricating the ETFE polymer and subjecting the lubricated polymer to pressure at a temperature below the melting point of the ETFE polymer. Optionally, the ETFE tape may be expanded at a temperature below the melting temperature of the ETFE polymer to form an expanded ETFE membrane. Alternatively, the ETFE polymer may subjected to heat and pressure without the addition of a lubricant to form a dense preform. The dense preform may be subsequently slit in a length direction and stretched to form a dense ETFE fiber.

BONDING HIGHLY-FLUORINATED PLASTICS TO ELASTOMERS USING SILANE-BASED PRIMERS
Methods of bonding highly-fluorinated thermoplastics to elastomers are described. The methods include apply primers comprising at least one aromatic silane and at least one amino-silane to an uncured elastomer and irradiating the primer with actinic radiation before or after applying the highly-fluorinated thermoplastics. The elastomer may then be cured to provide articles having good adhesion between the highly-fluorinated thermoplastic and the cured elastomer.
Anti-reflection film and layered product film having anti-reflection film
The present application realizes an anti-reflection film or the like that is a layered product having low surface reflectivity, excellent thermoformability, and satisfactory abrasion resistance. This anti-reflection film includes: a base material layer including a thermoplastic resin; and a low-refractive-index layer which is stacked on at least one surface of the base material layer and which has a refractive index that is lower than the refractive index of the base material layer, wherein the low-refractive-index layer includes a polymer of a first resin material including a fluorine-containing urethane acrylate and a (meth)acrylate.
ADHESIVE TAPE SUBSTRATE WITH GLASS CLOTH AND FLUORINE RESIN, AND ADHESIVE TAPE
An adhesive tape substrate production method disclosed in the present description includes the steps of decreasing the amount of a sizing agent contained in a glass cloth by heat; impregnating the glass cloth for which the amount of the sizing agent has been decreased with a dispersion of a fluorine resin; and heating the impregnated glass cloth to a temperature equal to or higher than a melting point of the fluorine resin. Thus, an adhesive tape substrate including the glass cloth impregnated with the fluorine resin is obtained. This method are more productive of adhesive tape substrates and adhesive tapes than conventional methods. In addition, adhesive tape substrates and adhesive tapes for which the occurrence of defects in appearance are reduced can be produced.
TRANSPARENT FLUOROPOLYMER FILMS
In a first aspect, a transparent fluoropolymer film includes, a vinyl fluoride polymer, 2 to 8 wt % of an acrylate polymer, and 0.1 to 4 wt % of a triazine UV absorber. After heating at 100 C. for 96 hours, the transparent fluoropolymer film has a 340 nm absorbance of at least 1.5. In a second aspect, a transparent multilayer film includes a polymeric substrate film and a fluoropolymer film. The fluoropolymer film includes a vinyl fluoride polymer, 2 to 8 wt % of an acrylate polymer and 0.1 to 4 wt % of a triazine UV absorber. After heating at 100 C. for 96 hours, the transparent fluoropolymer film has a 340 nm absorbance of at least 1.5.
