Liner having an induction heat sealable layer for sealing to a rim of a container, and a pull tab for ease of removal of the liner from the container rim. A folded insert disposed between multilayer upper and lower components, has a heat bondable polyolefin layer that is thermally laminated to polyolefin layers of the upper and lower components, forming a pull tab between the integrated polyolefin layers. The resulting composite resists delamination and can be formed in a single thermal lamination step, avoiding the multiple lamination steps, associated high equipment costs, and complex layer constructions of the prior art.

IMPROVED USER-FRIENDLY TAMPER-RESISTANT/TAMPER-EVIDENT CONTAINER-SEAL SYSTEM FOR CONTAINERS OF CONSUMER GOODS AND METHODS OF USE
20210316906 · 2021-10-14 · ·

The inventive disclosures described herein pertain to an improved tamper-resistant/tamper-evident (TE) seal for containers of consumer/commercial product-containment vessels (such as, for example, prescription bottles, condiment bottles, etc.) that enables a user, and in particular older persons, to better grip and/or exert leverage to more-easily and reliably open such containers. In one embodiment of the improved TE seal, a typical prior-art seal configuration that features an inner seal with a small overlapping flexible pull-tab layer is improved by affixing the pull-tab to another substantially rigid upper layer such that a user can insert the pull-tab member between two of the user's fingers wherein the two user fingers are also disposed between the inner seal and the substantially rigid upper layer such that a user can more easily exert leverage/force to open the container that employs the tamper-resistant seal. This configuration is generally referred to as a “T-tab” configuration.

SEALANT FILM, LAYERED FILM, AND PACKAGING MATERIAL

A sealant film including a layered film that includes a sealable resin layer including a heat seal layer (A) as a surface layer; and a base material layer (B), in which the sealable resin layer is formed of a resin layer having a 1% secant modulus of 200 MPa or less and has a thickness of 15 μm to 50 μm, the heat seal layer (A) has a 1% secant modulus of 20 MPa to 45 MPa and a thickness of 5 μm or more, and the base material layer (B) has a 1% secant modulus of 250 MPa or more and a thickness of 1 μm to 30 μm. Thus, the sealant film not only has good adhesion and suitable openability with respect to the surface to be adhered to but also achieves excellent pressure resistance that prevents the occurrence of opening even under high-pressure treatment.
