Actinic-ray-curable resin composition, gas-barrier film, and multilayer structure
An active energy ray-curable resin composition containing: a reaction product (X) of a component (A) and a component (B) below: (A) at least one selected from the group consisting of meta-xylylenediamine and para-xylylenediamine; (B) at least one selected from the group consisting of unsaturated carboxylic acids represented by the following general formula (1) and derivatives of the unsaturated carboxylic acids: ##STR00001## wherein, in the formula (1), R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms, an aryl group having from 6 to 12 carbon atoms, or an aralkyl group having from 7 to 13 carbon atoms; (C) a compound having at least one group selected from the group consisting of a glycidyl group and an isocyanate group, and an ethylenically unsaturated bond-containing group; and (D) a phosphoric acid derivative having an ethylenically unsaturated bond-containing group.
POST CONSUMER RESIN PACKAGING
The present invention relates to a sustainable article for packaging which could be made substantially free of virgin petroleum-based compounds; in particular it relates to new packaging made from coloured post-consumer resin (PCR) having a high NIR absorption. A need remains to create a circular economy for coloured and/or black plastic by bringing the waste coloured and black plastic into new packaging while using Near infrared (NIR) detectable pigment in the colourant masterbatch. It is therefore an object of the present invention to bring the coloured or black plastic waste into new packaging. It has be found that a sustainable packaging in consumer acceptable black using NIR detectable pigment can be obtained by using a multilayer post-consumer resin, comprising a thinner outer layer of post-consumer resin of natural plastic waste (N-PCR); and a thicker inner layer comprising at least 50% coloured plastic waste (J-PCR).
Recyclable film
Described herein are recyclable films with an outer surface comprising a polar polymer, such as polyamide, an inner surface comprising a sealant, and a polar polymer compatibilizer located between the polar polymer and the sealant. Preferably the outer surface is an outer layer of biaxially oriented polyamide and the inner surface is a multilayer inner film comprising the sealant and the compatibilizer.
Resin composition, melt-forming material, multilayer structure, and liquid packaging material
A resin composition contains: (A) an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer; (B) an olefin polymer; and (C) a sorbic acid ester; wherein the sorbic acid ester (C) is present in an amount of 0.00001 to 10 ppm based on the weight of the resin composition. The resin composition exhibits reduced susceptibility to coloration.
PRODUCT TRANSPORT CONTAINERS
Product transport containers are disclosed. Such containers can provide one or more advantages compared to existing containers. For example, product transport containers described herein can maintain a product at a desired temperature for an extended period of time, including without the use of an active heating or cooling component. Such product transport containers described herein may also provide improved breathability, thermal insulation, and/or mechanical strength or dimensional stability. Such containers can include a plurality of walls defining an interior volume and a selectively openable side permitting movement of the product into and out of the interior volume of the container. The walls can be formed from a thermoformed non-woven fabric.
Method of using a sterilization wrap system
A method of using a sterilization wrap system including a permeable material having barrier properties and having a first surface and a second opposing surface, the exterior panel being substantially opaque or having a first level of translucence, and an interior panel including a permeable material having barrier properties and having a first surface and a second opposing surface, the interior panel having a level of translucence that is higher than the translucence of the exterior panel, the panels being joined together over at least a portion of their surfaces. Also disclosed is inspection of the sterilization wrap system for exterior panel breaches by looking for light passing through a panel facing the viewer.
Laminate structure for barrier packaging
Laminate structure comprising an alternating stack of layers from polymer blends AC and BD having the sequence -AC-[BD-AC-].sub.n with n from 4 to 36, wherein the layer thickness of layers AC and layers BD is less than 3 μm, wherein A and B are thermoplastic polymers and C and D are thermoplastic elastomers, wherein the thermoplastic polymer B has functional barrier properties, wherein the amount of the thermoplastic elastomers C and D in the polymer blends AC and BD is each from 3 to 45 wt.-%, and polymer B and elastomer D are essentially incompatible.
Recyclable flexible films and bags for packaging flowable materials
The disclosure provides ethylene/α-olefin copolymer based co-extruded, multi-layer films, including barrier films and non-barrier films, and articles of manufacture that include the films, such as flexible bags and containers for flowable materials. The films and articles that include the films have improved flex-crak resistance and toughness. The films and articles that include the films have good barrier properties as the barrier films include a core layer of ethylene-vinyl alcohol (EVOH) copolymer having a high ethylene content. The low amount of EVOH copolymer in the total film that is needed to achieve the flex-crack resistance, toughness, and good barrier properties, further allow for the recycling of the films and articles of manufacture.
FILM COMPRISING HETEROPHASIC PROPYLENE COPOLYMER COMPOSITION
The invention relates to a film comprising at least one first layer consisting of a heterophasic propylene copolymer composition comprising a heterophasic propylene copolymer, wherein the heterophasic propylene copolymer is present in an amount of at least 95 wt % based on the heterophasic propylene copolymer composition, wherein the heterophasic propylene copolymer consists of a) a propylene-based matrix wherein the propylene-based matrix consists of a propylene homopolymer and b) a dispersed ethylene α-olefin copolymer, wherein the sum of the weight of the propylene-based matrix and the weight of the dispersed ethylene-α-olefin copolymer is 100 wt % based on the heterophasic propylene copolymer, wherein the amount of xylene-soluble matter (CXS) in the heterophasic propylene copolymer composition is in the range from 20.0 to 35.0 wt % based on the heterophasic propylene copolymer composition, wherein the CXS is measured according to ISO 16152:2005 in p-xylene at 25° C.
