Mats and panels of mats and methods of making the same are described. The panels include a first portion defined by a first material and a second portion defined by a second material. The first material and the second material have at least one of different compositions and different material properties. The methods include depositing a first material into a mold of a panel, depositing a second material into the mold of the panel after deposition of the first material, and applying at least one of pressure and heat to the mold of the panel to form a panel having the first material and the second material having at least one different compositions and different material properties.

SMART MAT
20220075446 · 2022-03-10 ·

A smart mat includes a stepping potential generation unit, a computing processor and a transmission processor for sensing the stepping direction of a stepper to control the operation of a device. The stepping potential generation unit includes an upper mat, an isolating airgap layer, a lower mat and at least one high-resistance strips. When the stepper stands on the smart mat to press the stepping potential generation unit, a part of the stepping potential generation unit is pressed by an open-circuit state to form a closed circuit and generate a potential. The computing processor uses the distributed position of each potential and the time sequence of distributing each potential to compute and analyse a potential stepping process distribution area to obtain a stepping direction, so as to control the operation of the device through the transmission processor.

ACTIVE MOTION ANTI-FATIGUE MAT

Provided is an active motion anti-fatigue mat that includes a platform and a base. The platform being positioned at the top of the base and is configured to flex in at least more than one direction in the plane orthogonal to the plane of the platform. The platform is configured to flex by virtue of a plurality of slits cut on the surface of the platform and the thickness of the platform.

METHOD OF PREPARING ANTIMICROBIAL SHEETS FOR ARTICLES OF MANUFACTURE HAVING ANTIMICROBIAL PROPERTIES
20210331458 · 2021-10-28 ·

A method of preparing antimicrobial material sheets suitable for manufacturing a wide range of products having antimicrobial properties. In exemplary embodiments, a fabric having antimicrobial agents may be calendered with a polymer such as a silicone compound or an elastomer, in order to create a fused material sheet that contains the antibacterial properties of the fabric. In exemplary embodiments, the antimicrobial agent is copper, a copper alloy, silver, a silver alloy, or other suitable antimicrobial agent from which a fabric may be created. In some exemplary embodiments, an uncured silicone composition and copper alloy fabric are calendered to obtain an antimicrobial material sheet suitable for compression molding a wide range of products. In some exemplary embodiments, an uncured silicone composition and copper alloy fabric are calendered and roto-cured to obtain a cured antimicrobial material sheet or sheet rolls that maybe suitable for die-cutting.

SHEET BODY

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a sheet body having an improved function of preventing icing and/or snow accretion. At least included are a solid oil-containing resin layer containing an oil and an oil-permeable surface resin layer that has higher wear resistance than the oil-containing resin layer and is layered on one of surfaces of the oil-containing resin layer. The oil included in the oil-containing resin layer includes a low-temperature exuding oil component capable of exuding from the oil-containing resin layer when a temperature decreases to a predetermined value or lower, and the surface resin layer has enough oil permeability to permeate the low-temperature exuding oil component exuding from the oil-containing resin layer to a surface of the surface resin layer that is opposite to a side of the oil-containing resin layer.

LAMINATED ARTICLE

A laminated article includes a thermoplastic resin expanded beads molded layer A having a volume Va and a tensile modulus TMa which is 2 to 100 MPa, and a thermoplastic elastomer expanded beads molded layer B having a volume Vb and a tensile modulus TMb which is 0.05 MPa or more and less than 2 MPa, the layers A and B being laminated and bonded to each other. Va:Vb is 90:10 to 50:50 and TMb/TMa is 0.025 or less.

MATTING SYSTEM
20210291478 · 2021-09-23 ·

Improved containment mats and systems of containment mats may include multiple adjoining mats with a top surface and a bottom surface. The multiple mats may provide a modular structural mat system that may be installed at a drill site, with multiple mats placed adjacent to each other with a lap joint connecting adjacent mats. A geotextile may be used to cover the lap joints and a coating applied to the geotextile. Such a system may provide containment of potential spills, a reliable working surface for drilling operations, and relatively fast and less expensive installation.

Heated panels with ballistic structures

A heater panel includes a face layer. A heater/dielectric layer includes a heater layer between a pair of dielectric layers. The face layer is bonded to a first one of the dielectric layers. A ballistic structure is bonded to a second one of the dielectric layers. The face layer can be bonded directly to the first one of the dielectric layers with a film adhesive. The ballistic structure can be bonded directly to the second one of the dielectric layers with a film adhesive. The ballistic structure can be configured to withstand at least a 5.56 mm bullet impact.
