Sheet packaging
Sheet packaging has a corrugated ply bonded to a backing ply. The corrugated ply forms parallel flutes. The packaging comprises voids through both the corrugated ply and the backing ply at intervals along the flutes, thereby forming a plurality of insular portions interconnected by flexures. Each insular portion has a flute portion and a backing portion between adjacent voids and bonded together at respective edges and each flexure comprises bonded-together portions of the corrugated ply and the backing ply. The flexures confer hyper flexibility to the packaging wherein each flexure possesses an independent bend axis across which the flexure can both be twisted and bent.
INSULATION PRODUCTS AND METHODS AND MACHINES FOR MAKING INSULATION PRODUCTS
The presently disclosed subject matter generally relates to recyclable insulation material for shipping containers, groceries bags, etc., machines for making the recyclable insulation material, and methods for the making the recyclable insulation material. In one aspect, an insulation product may include a first layer and a first continuous paper sheet formed into a first plurality of flexible loops disposed on and attached to the first layer and defining a first plurality of air channels that extend in a direction that is substantially perpendicular with a machine direction of the insulation product. A take up factor of the first continuous paper sheet to the first layer may be greater than 1:1.
Packaging material
The invention relates to the packaging of one or more articles in a packaging sheet material which is moveable from a first condition to a second, expanded, condition to improve the packaging effect of the sheet material. In accordance with the invention the sheet material includes a first portion with apertures which can be moved to an open position to create the second, expanded, condition and at least one, but typically a plurality of spaced apart, second portions which have no apertures, or a different shape and/or pattern of apertures than the apertures of the first portion, so as to form a surface of the said second portion more suitable for the application of a label and/or indications thereon when the sheet material is in the second expanded condition.
Deposition mask package and deposition mask packaging method
A deposition mask package according to the present embodiment includes a receiving portion, a lid portion that faces the receiving portion, a deposition mask that is arranged between the receiving portion and the lid portion and has an effective region in which a plurality of through-holes is formed. The receiving portion has a first opposing surface facing the lid portion and a concave portion provided on the first opposing surface. The concave portion is covered by a first flexible film. The effective region of the deposition mask is arranged on the concave portion with the first flexible film interposed therebetween.
PACKAGING MATERIAL HAVING EXPANDABLE LAYERS
A packaging material, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure, can include a first layer and a second layer. The first layer can be configurable to form an outer layer of a packaging enclosure. The second layer can be configurable to form an inner layer of the packaging enclosure. Each of the first layer and the second layer can be selectively movable from an unexpanded condition to an expanded condition. Furthermore, the first layer can include a plurality of undulations therein, and the plurality of undulations can be configured to flatten out when the first layer is moved to the expanded condition.
Embossed paper in combination with paper cushioning for shipping envelopes
According to some illustrative embodiments, a protective product is provided that includes: at least one expandable slit paper sheet, said at least on expandable slit paper being expanded between opposing ends of said slit paper; a first embossed paper sheet facing said expanded slit paper sheet and a second paper sheet facing an opposite side of said at least one expanded slit paper sheet, at least one of said first embossed paper sheet and said second paper sheet being fixed to said expanded slit paper sheet at the opposing ends of said expanded slit paper sheet and thereby maintaining said expanded paper in its expanded state, said first embossed paper sheet having a plurality of embossings that increase the rigidity of said embossed paper sheet, whereby inhibiting deformation of said embossed paper sheet that is fixed to said expanded slit sheet paper.
Starch-based padded material, padded mailers and methods of making the same
Padded materials and corresponding systems and methods for forming the same are provided herein. A padded material comprises a first web of paper-based material defining a first and a second surface, and a second web of paper-based material defining a first and a second surface. The padded material defines a plurality of consecutive panel sections formed of a first edge, a second edge, a first panel breakline and a second panel breakline. A first adhesive is positioned between corresponding portions of the first web and the second web. A starch-based padding is sandwiched between the first web and the second web with a second adhesive. The starch-based padding defines a non-uniform placement density along the first web between 15%-40%. The placement density is the ratio of area covered by the starch-based particles to the web area defined between the first edge, second edge, first panel breakline, and second panel breakline.
Protective article with cellulose-based expandable composite
This invention relates to a protective article comprising first and second walls. Each of the walls includes superimposed plies enclosing an expansion space therebetween, and an expandable composite disposed in the expansion space. The expandable composite includes a biodegradable matrix, and a plurality of cellulose-based expandable microspheres. The expandable microspheres are configured to cause the biodegradable matrix to expand upon activation of the expandable microspheres. The invention further relates to an expandable web comprising a first ply, second ply and an expandable composite deposited between the first ply and the second ply. The invention further relates to a method for making an expandable protective article.
