INSULATION PRODUCTS AND METHODS AND MACHINES FOR MAKING INSULATION PRODUCTS

The presently disclosed subject matter generally relates to recyclable insulation material for shipping containers, groceries bags, etc., machines for making the recyclable insulation material, and methods for the making the recyclable insulation material. In one aspect, an insulation product may include a first layer and a first continuous paper sheet formed into a first plurality of flexible loops disposed on and attached to the first layer and defining a first plurality of air channels that extend in a direction that is substantially perpendicular with a machine direction of the insulation product. A take up factor of the first continuous paper sheet to the first layer may be greater than 1:1.

High-slip stretch film

A multi-layer stretch wrap film has three or more layers, including at least one outer non-cling layer, at least one inner core layer, and at least one outer cling layer, where the film displays enhanced non-cling properties after being stretched.

Implementations described and claimed herein include a cushioning structure and method for manufacturing a cellular cushioning system, which allows for maximum comfort through the compression and shock cycle. Specifically, a cushioning structure comprises void cells formed in an array, which comprise multiple outwardly curved surfaces, with varying radius measurements. Stiffness in the void cells can vary by varying the radii. The outwardly curved surfaces prevent buckling and provide support for high impact by absorbing energy.

In the preferred embodiments, the present invention provides substantially improved slit sheet cushioning products by advantageously combining novel paper properties with novel slit patterns for improved features and characteristics. In some illustrative and non-limiting example embodiments, cushioning products of the present invention can include, e.g., a novel slit sheet material in combination with extensible paper employed as, e.g., a cushioning pad or as cushioning within an envelope product, wherein the cushioning product can be substantially more resilient, but, yet, e.g., thinner for better utilization of space.

ADDITIVE APPLICATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PADDED MAILERS

An additive application system utilized to form a padded mailer is provided, along with corresponding methods and systems. The system applies an additive liquid to a portion of a first web that, along with a second web, forms a panel of the padded mailer. After contact occurs, an internal pouch for the panel is formed. When the additive liquid and expandable adhesive positioned within the internal pouch are energized via an oven, the expandable adhesive expands in thickness within the internal pouch to form padding for the panel. Utilizing additive liquid enables use of less expandable adhesive while maintaining a desired speed of operation of the oven to still produce a desired thickness for the padding. Cooling may be applied after expansion in the oven to retain thickness expansion in the padding.

Packaging bag

The packaging bag is a packaging bag made of a laminate formed in a bag shape, the laminate being composed of a paper substrate, a foamed sheet made of polyolefin resin laminated on an inner side relative to the paper substrate, and a sealant layer laminated on an inner side relative to the foamed sheet, which are laminated with the sealant layer facing inward. In the packaging bag, a thickness of the foamed sheet is in a range of 0.8 mm to 5.0 mm, an expansion ratio of the foamed sheet is in a range of 15 to 50 times, and a bending stiffness of the paper substrate in an MD direction is in a range of 150 mN to 700 mN.
