Wall mountable soap dish assembly and methods of making and using the same
11937747 · 2024-03-26 ·

The invention is directed to a soap dish assembly that promotes the longevity of a bar of soap and allows a user to access to the soap without directly handling it. Particularly, the disclosed assembly includes a bottom plate configured to attach to a support surface (e.g., a shower wall). The bottom plate comprises a housing sized and shaped to cooperate with a bar of soap. The soap is therefore retained within the base housing via a middle plate. A front plate attaches to the bottom plate to retain the soap and middle plate therebetween. In use, a sponge or other bathing accessory can contact an exposed surface of the soap, thereby allowing access to the soap without having to directly handle it. Alternatively, a user can rub a desired body part (e.g., their hands) on the exposed portion of the soap for cleaning. As a result, the life of the soap is extended and does not get soggy or softened from excess contact with water during and after use.

Soap holder

A soap holder has a base and a hollow pedestal upwardly extending from the base to a top end, at which is formed an upper limit or locus. The locus receives a bar of soap. At least one air hole is formed to communicate to the pedestal interior and to be disposed below the top end. Since almost all of the exterior surface of the soap bar is exposed to ambient air, the soap bar dries without creating a goopy mess. Curved surfaces of the soap holder aid in its cleaning.

Mounting assembly

The present disclosure relates generally to an improved mounting assembly. In general, the mounting device includes a cover plate, a frame (at least a portion of which is adjacent to the cover plate), and an accessory that is attachable to the cover plate. The frame includes generally horizontal top and bottom portions or members that cooperatively limit or prohibit lateral motion of the cover plate relative to the frame when the cover plate is attached to the frame and is attached to a wall or vertical surface. The presence of the generally horizontal bottom and top portions or members facilitate faster and easier application and removal of the mounting assembly to a wall or other vertical surface by permitting the mounting assembly to be removed from the backplate on the wall in a single step.

The bathtub wall panel extension comprises a panel, a panel seal, and a door. The panel installs on top of a front wall of a bathtub in place of a sliding shower door. The panel may use the side tracks of the shower door to stabilize it in an upright position. The panel extends the height of the bathtub. The door may provide access to the bathtub though a door aperture when the door is in an open position. The door may comprise a door seal to provide a watertight seal with the panel when the door is in a closed position. The bathtub wall panel extension may comprise handholds, a magazine holder, a soap holder, a cup holder, and one or more shelves.

Soap holder

A soap holder comprises a main body, and a carrying plate. The main body has a plurality of holes, an upper surface and a lower surface. The carrying plate has a plurality of bumps. The carrying plate is connected to one side of the main body by a hinge joint. Each of the plurality of bumps has a tip, and each of the plurality of bumps partially passes through a corresponding hole of the plurality of holes so the tips of the plurality of bumps expose above the upper surface. The tips of the plurality of bumps can carry a bar of soap. The main body and the carrying plate are separable and the soap drops onto the upper surface of the main body as each of the plurality of bumps withdraws from the corresponding hole of the plurality of holes.
