A DOUBLE-SIDED ADHESIVE FLEXOGRAPHIC PRINTING PLATE UNDERLAY
A double-sided adhesive flexographic printing plate underlay for use in the manufacture and mounting of flexographic printing plates is provided. The underlay is carrier sheet with a solvent acrylic adhesive stripe-coating provided on both sides thereof. In addition, a siliconized release liner is provided to cover one of the coated sides of the carrier sheet. Both the carrier sheet and the release liner are formed from a glass clear polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and the solvent acrylic adhesive is transparent such that ultraviolent light can readily pass through the underlay. The construction of the underlay is such that it can withstand the washout conditions employed in the manufacture of both liquid and solid photopolymer flexographic printing plates.

LIQUID-BEARING ARTICLES FOR TRANSFERRING AND APPLYING LIQUIDS
An article with an operative liquid-bearing surface is adapted for transferring that liquid to a substrate material or printing plate. The entire operative surface of the article is provided with a pattern of microscopic discrete depressions which are usually laser-engraved into the surface so that a substantially continuous wall structure remains which surrounds and defines the depressions. In particular the depressions are of a cross-sectional shape which is symmetrical about one or both of a lateral and a medial axis perpendicular thereto, and arranged adjacent one another in offset fashion, and above and below one another so that the pattern thus formed is substantially uniform and repeating. Each of at least one of the pairs of lateral or medial sidewalls of any one depression are contoured, the contour of one of the pair being generally the mirror image of the other.
Planographic printing plate precursor, method of producing same, and printing method using same
Provided is a planographic printing plate precursor including: a support; and an image recording layer formed on the support, in which the content of fine particles per unit area in a region on a plate surface on the image recording layer side from an end portion of the planographic printing plate precursor to a portion inside the end portion by 5 mm is greater than the content of the fine particles per unit area in a region other than the region by an amount of 10 mg/m.sup.2 or greater, edge stains are not generated therein, and transferring of the image recording layer is prevented even in a case where planographic printing plate precursors are stored in a stacked state. Further, provided are a method of producing the same and a printing method using the same.
