A buttock wiping device includes a wiping arm including a head portion configured to press a wiping material against the buttocks, a wiping arm drive unit configured to move the wiping arm, and a control unit configured to control operation of the wiping arm drive unit. The control unit controls a movement path of the wiping arm such that the head portion moves along the path of water sprayed from a cleansing nozzle of a warm-water cleansing device in cleansing of a private area. Alternatively, a private area position is estimated, and the control unit controls the movement path of the wiping arm such that the head portion reaches the estimated position. As another alternative, the control unit controls the movement path of the wiping arm such that the head portion reaches the private area position.

A rotatable body brush, preferably driven by an electric motor, has pivoted segments in the brush or working element. The segments swing outwardly when the user desires a larger-diameter brush, and can be retained inwardly when a smaller brush, such as a face brush, is desired.

The rotating disk section includes a drive shaft attached to a first drive gear and each rotating head includes a second drive gear engaging the gear teeth. Each of the rotating heads includes an interchangeable brush configured for removable fixation on a mushroom shaped projection torsionally coupled to the second drive gear, and a reservoir disposed in the main housing section dispenses a liquid soap onto at least one of the rotating heads.

An automatic back-cleansing apparatus for fixing to a vertical bath or shower surface includes a main housing section having a rotating head receiving section with gear teeth for engaging rotating heads on a rotating disk section adjacent the main housing section. The rotating disk section includes a drive shaft attached to a first drive gear and each rotating head includes a second drive gear engaging the gear teeth. Each of the rotating heads includes an interchangeable brush configured for removable fixation on a mushroom shaped projection torsionally coupled to the second drive gear, and a reservoir disposed in the main housing section dispenses a liquid soap onto at least one of the rotating heads.

An electrical appliance for personal care includes a handle with a longitudinal axis, and a plug-on part which can be attached to the handle, wherein a vibration unit having an electric motor and an eccentric element is arranged in the handle, wherein a plug-like coupling structure protrudes from the handle, which plug-like coupling structure forms an interface with a substantially mirror-inverted socket-like coupling structure of the plug-on part, wherein the interface has at least two stages with different circumferential geometry, wherein at least one of the stages has a rotation-preventing device between the handle and the plug-on part, and wherein a stop surface of the handle for the plug-on part extends obliquely with respect to the longitudinal axis of the handle.

This invention relates to a device (1) for performing personal care operations on a subject. The device (1) comprises a handheld base body (3), a driving unit (400) to receive and drive an interchangeable treatment head (2) to perform the personal care operation, a sensor (7) for measuring the amount of current drawn from a motor arrangement (5, 6) while the driving unit (400) is being operated. The device (1) further comprises a control unit (8) operably connected to the sensor (7) and the driving unit (400) and configured to control the driving unit (400). The control unit (8) is configured to identify the individual treatment head (2) fitted on the driving unit (400) by comparing the measured motor current at the predefined measuring time (t1) with at least one predefined current threshold (C).
