Flexographic printing imaging with lead and trail edge strips

A method of forming a digital image on a flexographic printing plate comprising: attaching a portion of photopolymer to a dimensionally stable backing sheet; attaching a lead edge strip and a trail edge strip to said dimensionally stable backing sheet to form a flexographic printing plate; securing the flexographic printing plate comprising a portion of photopolymer to an imaging cylinder by securing the lead edge strip to a lead edge lock formation and securing said trail edge strip to a trail edge lock formation; imparting an image to said portion of photopolymer; and washing said photopolymer to remove unreacted photopolymer and drying said photopolymer to form a processed flexographic printing plate.

Method of making a flexographic printing plate

A method of producing a photocured structure comprising a backing layer for coupling to a relief image printing plate or as an integral all-in-one structure comprising a backing layer and a relief image printing layer. The photocured structure may be formed using a continuous liquid interphase method or three-dimensional plating to selectively crosslink and cure a photocurable composition. The backing layer may comprise a lattice or series of openings of the lattice where the placement and density of the openings is controlled.

ABSORBENT ARTICLE

A method for alignment of a pattern printed on a material for an absorbent article by a rotary printing device, including providing a first composition from a first chamber; providing a second composition including a detectable agent from a second chamber; wherein the first composition from the first chamber and the second composition from the second chamber are supplied to the same anilox roller or directly to the same rotary printing cylinder; and printing the first and second compositions on the material for an absorbent article by a rotary printing cylinder.

Provided are a flexo printing plate, which makes it possible to print an image without unevenness by inhibiting bouncing that occurs in a case where the distal end of an image portion of a printing plate contacts a printing target, and a method for producing a flexo printing plate. A region that extends 0.5 mm to 5 mm from a distal end side of the image portion in a printing direction is a lowered region having a height shorter than a height of the image portion other than the region, and the lowered region is gradually lowered toward a non-image portion in a direction orthogonal to the edge on the distal end side of the image portion.

AIR SKIVE WITH VAPOR INJECTION
20170362693 · 2017-12-21 ·

A web transport system for transporting a web of media along a web transport path in an in-track direction, including a liquid application system for applying a liquid to at least one surface of the web of media. An air skive is positioned along the web transport path downstream of the liquid application system, wherein the air skive directs one or more streams of air onto the web of media thereby removing at least some of the liquid that is being carried along with the web of media. A vapor source adds a vapor into the one or more streams of air provided by the air skive before the one or more streams of air are directed onto the web of media.

DOCTOR BLADE HOLDER AND ADJUSTMENT MECHANISM
20170348965 · 2017-12-07 ·

A doctor blade holder and adjustment mechanism that may be utilized with a flexographic printing system. The doctor blade holder and adjustment mechanism may utilize a constant displacement of the doctor blade against an anilox roller, rather than a constant force, to reduce ink build up on the back side of the doctor blade, and subsequently, intermittent dropping of the accumulated ink onto the post-shearing side of the anilox roller (“spitting”). The doctor blade holder and adjustment mechanism may provide adjustability of a combination of doctor blade pressure, angle and displacement.
