Gravure offset printing apparatus

A gravure offset printing apparatus includes two clamps, a printing roller and a driving device. The two clamps are applicable to clamp individually two opposing ends of a blanket. The printing roller having an axial direction parallel to a first direction is disposed between the two clamps. The blanket wraps part of a radial periphery of the printing roller. The driving device is to drive the two clamps to undergo reverse motions so as to displace the blanket, and the blanket further rotates the printing roller. A gravure module, disposed on a platform of the gravure offset printing apparatus, has a groove for containing an offset ink. While the two clamps pull the blanket to undergo the reverse motions, a surface of the blanket contacts the gravure module so as to adhere the offset ink on the surface of the blanket.

The control device (7) repeatedly performs the series of printing operations a plurality of times with respect to the identical printing position on the substrate (2). A printing pattern laminate made of the conductive paste laminated into the shape of the printing pattern is formed on the substrate (2). This makes it possible to form lines and bumps on a substrate made of a heat-sensitive material, while preventing the occurrence of metamorphosis of the substrate made of the heat-sensitive material.

In some examples, an ink feed system for providing and feeding printing ink to an inking unit of an intaglio printing unit includes an inking device in the inking unit for inking a first inking unit cylinder. A provision device includes a storage receptacle with an ink reservoir of printing ink that is fed via an outlet and a line to the inking device. Furthermore, a wall of the storage receptacle encompassing the outlet can be heated and/or a metering device may be provided in the line path to support and/or effectuate delivery of the printing ink from the storage receptacle. On an output side, the metering device may provide a mass flow or volume flow that correlates with a working speed of the metering device via a defined relationship, and the metering device may be connected to a control device to control the working speed of the metering device.

There is described a combined printing press (10; 10*) for the production of security documents, in particular banknotes, comprising a screen printing group (2; 2*) and an intaglio printing group (3) adapted to process substrates in the form of individual sheets or successive portions of a continuous web. The screen printing group (2; 2*) is located upstream of the intaglio printing group (3) and comprises at least one screen printing unit (20; 20*) designed to print a pattern of optically-variable ink onto one side of the substrates, which optically-variable ink contains flakes that can be oriented by means of a magnetic field. The screen printing group (2; 2*) further comprises a magnetic unit (24; 24*) located downstream of the screen printing unit (20; 20*), which magnetic unit is designed to magnetically induce an optically-variable effect in the pattern of optically-variable ink applied by the screen printing unit (20; 20*). The screen printing group (2; 2*) further comprises at least one drying/curing unit (25, 28; 25*, 28*) designed to dry/cure the pattern of optically-variable ink in which the optically-variable effect has been induced by the magnetic unit (24), prior to transfer of the substrates to the intaglio printing group (3).

High durability print roller

Improved pliable print rollers for high speed drink can printing machines increase the pliable roller life five- to ten-fold at comparable ink thickness and machine speed. The improved performance results from the selection of materials utilized including a combination of elastomers, and in some case an essentially oil-free composition, and an associated manufacturing process not previously utilized to create pliable print rollers for high speed drink can printing machines. In particular a particular embodiment, the composition includes a combination of elastomers (e.g., 75% polyisoprene and 25% polybutadiene), a filler (e.g., silica), a curing agent (e.g., peroxided), and other additives (e.g., pigment, antioxidant, antiozonant) with little or no oil added as a softener. An illustrative composition including 150 parts by weight contains 100 parts elastomer, 35 parts filler, 4 parts curing agent, and 11 parts other additives (i.e., zero parts oil softener).

Functional cylinder body and manufacturing method therefor

Provided are a functional cylinder body, including a plurality of layers having magnetic patterns and non-magnetic patterns formed adjacently, and a manufacturing method therefor. The functional cylinder body comprises at least: a cylinder main body; a first functional pattern part, which includes first patterns and first functional patterns, the first patterns having first recess patterns and first non-recess patterns formed by forming recesses on a first material layer made of any one of a magnetic material and a non-magnetic material, the first functional patterns being made of any one of the magnetic material and the non-magnetic material embedded in the first recess patterns; and a second functional pattern part, which is formed in a position of the cylinder main body shallower than a position of the first recess patterns and has magnetic patterns of the magnetic material and non-magnetic patterns of the non-magnetic material formed adjacently.
