PRETREATMENT ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR TREATING WORK PIECES
A pretreatment assembly includes a product support assembly and a pretreatment device. The product support assembly includes a primary support assembly, a primary drive assembly, a number of secondary support assemblies, and a secondary drive assembly. The primary drive assembly is operatively coupled to the primary support assembly. The primary drive assembly imparts a generally constant motion to the primary support assembly. Each secondary support assembly is structured to support a number of work pieces. Each secondary support assembly is movably coupled to the primary support assembly. The secondary drive assembly is operatively coupled to each secondary support assembly. The secondary drive assembly selectively imparts a motion to each secondary support assembly. The pretreatment device is disposed adjacent the product support assembly.
Mandrel for printing necked cans
A mandrel wherein a portion of the mandrel body outer surface is cortical; i.e., flared outwardly, is provided. In this configuration, the necked can is drawn against the conical portion of the mandrel body outer surface while a generally cylindrical portion of the mandrel body extends into the can. Further, the space between the cylindrical portion of the mandrel body and the can is pressurized so as to resist deformations in the can during the decorating process. In an exemplary embodiment, the mandrel includes an elongated mandrel body with an outer surface, a proximal, first end, a proximal medial portion, a distal medial portion, and a distal, second end and having an axis of rotation. The mandrel body outer surface includes an elongated conical portion; the mandrel body outer surface conical portion is disposed adjacently about the mandrel body first end.

FOIL STAMPING APPARATUS
An apparatus for coating a part that has an asymmetrical edge. The apparatus includes a film dispenser, a film retriever, a mandrel; and a part holder. Preferably one or both of the mandrel and the part holder move in an angular relationship to one another, and the film dispenser and the film retriever move co-operatively in at least two dimensions with respect to the part holder. There is further provided a film having a first edge and a second edge, and the film can be a decorative coating, a protective coating or combinations of these. The film dispenser holds the first edge of the film, the film is positioned between the mandrel and the part holder and the film retriever holds the film second edge.

A print system and a method for curing marking material on an object using a mask screen are disclosed. For example, the print system includes a plurality of printheads, a curing light source, a movable member to hold an object, a mask screen and a controller to control movement of the movable member to move the object past the array of printheads, to operate the plurality of printheads to eject the marking material onto the object as the object passes the two-dimensional array of printheads, to control movement of the movable member to catch the mask screen and to operate the curing light source to cure the marking material, wherein the amount of energy that is applied to the object is controlled by the mask screen.

Can Imprinting Device And Associated Methods
A can imprinting device includes a blanket wheel having a plurality of blankets. Each blanket has a printing surface and at least two of the printing surfaces having a first part and a second part that each have raised and recessed portions. The first raised portion is configured to form a positive image on a can body of the plurality of can bodies. The first raised portion of at least one of the blankets is different in form from the first raised portion of at least one other of the blankets. The second recessed portion is configured to form a negative image on the can body. The negative image is inverse to the positive image. The first part and the second part are disposed relative to each other such that the negative image aligns with the positive image on the can body.
Can Imprinting Device And Associated Methods
A can imprinting device includes a blanket wheel having a plurality of blankets. Each blanket has a printing surface and at least two of the printing surfaces having a first part and a second part that each have raised and recessed portions.
