CONDITIONING ROLLERS
It is disclosed a conditioning roller for use within a printing system. The conditioning roller comprises: a roller body comprising an inner volume and an outer surface; a conditioning media attached to the outer surface of the roller body; a heating element; and a fluid dispensing mechanism. The heating element and the fluid dispensing mechanism are provided to act on the conditioning media from the inner volume of the roller body as to heat or wet the conditioning media.
Sheet-fed printing machine with a humidification device
A sheet-fed printing machine contains a printing unit, a drier, and a sheet handling device for transporting or guiding print sheets. The sheet handling device has an opening disposed downstream of the drier in the direction of transport. A humidification device for rehumidifying the print sheets is disposed in such a way that it rehumidifies the print sheets through the opening. The sheet handling device may contain a guide plate or several guide plates.
System and device for attenuating curl in substrates printed by inkjet printers
An aqueous ink printer includes an anti-curl fluid applicator that applies anti-curl fluid to a side of a substrate that is opposite a side that bears or will bear an ink image. The anti-curl fluid applicator includes a switching network that is configured to independently and selectively bias segments of a pressure member electrically. The segments are arranged along a longitudinal axis of the pressure member. The pressure member forms a nip with a anilox roller partially immersed in a reservoir of anti-curl fluid. As the switching network is operationed to selectively and independently bias the segments electrically using data corresponding to the ink image, anti-curl fluid migrates from the anilox roller onto the substrate in areas opposite the electrically biased segments.
LOW VISCOSITY PRINT COATING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems for applying low viscosity print coating to a web product using a coating roller and an off-press system are provided herein. An example system includes an unwinding station and a winding station. A motor causes the web product to travel along a web path. A coating roller applies a low viscosity print coating to a first side of the web product at a first position along the web path. The low viscosity print coating comprises a salt solution with a centipoise that is less than or equal to 100 centipoise that is configured to enhance printability. A backing roller applies a backing coating to a second, opposite side of the web product at a second, different position along the web path. The backing coating enhances sheet stability of the web product. A drying station dries the low viscosity print coating and the backing coating to remove moisture.

Air skive with vapor injection
A web transport system for transporting a web of media along a web transport path in an in-track direction, including a liquid application system for applying a liquid to at least one surface of the web of media. An air skive is positioned along the web transport path downstream of the liquid application system, wherein the air skive directs one or more streams of air onto the web of media thereby removing at least some of the liquid that is being carried along with the web of media. A vapor source adds a vapor into the one or more streams of air provided by the air skive before the one or more streams of air are directed onto the web of media.
Dampening unit comprising a rotating brush, and container-handling machine
A dampening unit that sprays viscous application liquid to a treatment surface includes a rotating brush driven to rotate around the axis, a liquid applicator that supplies the liquid to the brush, and a brush chamber to accommodate the brush. The brush chamber includes a wall that surrounds the brush. The wall defines an ejection window for discharging viscous application liquid that is either sprayed or spun away from the brush.

MOISTENING DEVICE, RECORDING SYSTEM, AND INTERMEDIATE UNIT
The moistening device 40 includes a transport section, a spray section 42, and a movement section 46. The moistening device 40 moistens the medium M by spraying the moistening liquid HL thereon. The transport section transports the medium M along the transport direction Y1. The spray section 42 sprays the moistening liquid HL on the medium M transported by the transport section. The movement section 46 moves the spray section 42.
