Method and apparatus for producing a decorative surface
A method for producing a decorative and structured surface with different gloss levels by feeding of a workpiece to a lacquer application device, application of a first liquid lacquer layer over an entire surface with a coarse structure in which a difference in thickness between thicker areas and thinner areas is at least 50 μm, in order to apply a second lacquer layer on the first lacquer layer wherein after curing the second lacquer layer has a different gloss level than the first lacquer layer.
Method for producing a printed product
A method produces a printed product. The method includes transferring a first Fluid onto at least one section of printing stock, applying a second fluid, having a dewetting effect on the first fluid, onto a form configured as a relief printing form or embossing form, and transferring the second fluid to at least some points of the section. In this manner printed products of high quality can be produced.

COMPARISONS OF HEATING ELEMENT POWER LEVEL PARAMETERS
In some examples, a media conditioner includes a conveying component to convey a sheet of printable media, a first heating element to heat a first portion of the conveying component, a second heating element to heat a second portion of the conveying component, and a controller. The controller is to provide a variable first power level to the first heating element and a variable second power level to the second heating element to cause the first and second heating elements to generate heat. In addition, the controller is to determine a first parameter based on the first power level and to determine a second parameter based on the second power level. The controller is also to produce a result indicator based on a result of a comparison between the first parameter and the second parameter.

Method and apparatus for producing a decorative surface
A method for producing a decorative surface having different gloss levels preferably comprising the following steps: (C) feeding of a workpiece (1.0), which is coated with at least a first lacquer layer (1.4) to a digital printing station; (D) provision of digital control data for the digital printing station; (E) digital spraying of droplets on partial areas of the first lacquer layer (1.4) on the workpiece (1.0) with an at least partially transparent lacquer in order to apply a second lacquer layer (1.5) on the first lacquer layer (1.4), wherein after curing the second lacquer layer (1.5) has a different gloss level than the first lacquer layer (1.4). Further disclosed is an apparatus for carrying out this method.

MACHINE ARRANGEMENT WITH PRINTING UNIT FOR THE SEQUENTIAL PROCESSING OF SHEET-TYPE SUBSTRATES
A machine arrangement sequentially processes sheet-like substrates with multiple different processing stations each having a substrate-guiding unit and a substrate-processing unit. At least one of the processing stations has, as a substrate-processing unit, at least one non-impact printing device which prints on the substrate. The processing station with the at least one non-impact printing device has a printing cylinder. Each non-impact printing device is arranged at the circumference of the printing cylinder. The printing cylinder is triple-sized or quadruple-sized. A double-sized or a triple-sized transfer drum, or a corresponding feed cylinder, is arranged directly upstream of this printing cylinder. Alternatively, a double-sized or a triple-sized transfer drum, or a corresponding transfer cylinder, is arranged directly downstream of this printing cylinder.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A VALUE DOCUMENT, VALUE DOCUMENT AND PRINTING DEVICE
A method for manufacturing a value document includes: providing a value document substrate; printing the value document substrate with magnetically orientable effect pigments which are dispersed in a UV-curable lacquer; the step of exposing the lacquer containing the magnetically orientable effect pigments to a dynamic magnetic field; the step of irradiating the lacquer containing the effect pigments with UV radiation; and optionally the step of embossing the cured or at least partially cured UV lacquer.
